We stayed at the Skukuza restcamp for 3 nights in a'double' bungalow. the place is nice especially with the new terrace bar. all over the KNP it seems some food companies are investing (Mug & Beans...). but the overall facilities (Kitchen, restaurant) are still very much average. a bit like camping really. which is Ok - you're in a game... I am a South African so I know what it's like to "safari". I have also attended many conferences in my life so I know what it's like to "travel". My recent stint at KNP (and my first at Skukuza) was for a conference. I wasn't 100% sure what to expect but as an international tourist destination, I expected maybe... More

We were in a group of 4 and occupied 2 bungalows.e it is said that skukuza is the largest public camp in Kurger, however it is not make me feel well. the single bed is too narrow and small. it is not comfortbale to have relax after whole day driving. and actually it is not clean inside , i can... We really enjoyed our stay at the rest-camp lodge with the view of the river, very convenient with a good size shop, with food for the BBQ, which we had several night, also a gift shop. The location is ideal to travel in a different direction every day. You need to be prepared to drive for a while with out... More

Mid Sept 2014 - Stayed 1 night at Skukuza in Riverside Bungalow (LR2W - #94). Great riverside location, away from the crowds, actually very quiet. The room had some extra amenities (microwave, cable TV etc.) inaddition to the usual pots/pans electric kettle. The kitchen was on the verandah and had a cage around the fridge (for baboons). This was a... More

Clean rooms well maintained. Bedsheets however didn't fit the matress (which seems to be the problem throughout the park). Another drawback was the layout of the chalet with only 6 single beds while we would have liked a double in the one room. I would assume this large camp gets too busy in peak season and loses the quiet bushveld... More

While we were happy with the unit we stayed in, there were alot of power outages, even the shop and restaurant had no power. The bungalow gardens was very neglected, there are almost no grass and there were sigarette buds and junk infront of our bungalow. The highlight of the stay was the beautiful restuarant there. Unfortunately I was batteling... More

t is he main camp, the biggest, the eldest an the most crowded, but well organized. It arranges morning and sunset drive (25$ pp about), morning walk and bush braai. The drives lasts 3 hours about. The bungalow with river sight is pretty nice. It misses a M&B restaurant. It is placed in a strategical position to visit the area.... More

I am a well travelled Kruger visitor and have been 4 times now, but this place needs some attention, it's like a 1970's decorated and maintained place, and I mean generally looks like it's not had much maintenance for years, more expensive each year, if it were not for the location it would be empty.

The rotund bungalows were well kitted out and adequate for the 3 nights stay. The kitchen formed part of the terrace and 'open air' to vulnerable to the monkeys that visited the site and other creatures. The rooms were serviced everyday with towels refreshed. In addition to self catering there was a quite rustic barbecue style restaurant. During my stay... More
