The Outpost is simply one of the most stunning places I’ve ever stayed. The rooms are utterly unique – 3 walls have been removed and replaced with floor to ceiling electric blinds which when opened (and we hardly ever had them closed) allow 180 degree views of the incredibly beautiful Luvuvhu river valley and the wildlife below. Bring your binos... more

This is the perfect hideaway for a couple or single that feels to get away from the city life. No mobile connection (even though you can use their land line in the reception if you get desperate). The nicest view from a room/bathtub I've ever had. Loved laying in the bathtub and watching the buffalos/impala/baboons etc drinking water by the... more

I stayed here as part of a family group of five during the Lions rugby tour. The location and accommodation is superb, but there were some huge problems with the organisation of the place. We heard rumours of a recent change of ownership, so these problems may resolve themselves, but I'll give you the good and the bad . .... more

What a beautiful stay in a stunning lodge, open to the wilds. August is warmer so we could snuggle under our blankets at night leaving the blinds fully open on all sides to the sounds of the bush and the sights of african skies. The staff was very helpful and charming (thanks Thomas for finding my sunglasses), game drives took... more

I knew the Outpost Lodge would be good, but I was blown away by how good. The rooms are luxurious with stunning views over the flood plain and the lounge area, with its fireplace, was a delightful place to hang out in between the game drives. I didn't expect to see a whole lot of game here, as it is... more

What a delightful place, but probably not for the first time visitor to Kruger. The pro's are that the facility is unique. Terrific architecture at the northernmost end of Kruger. The views are spectacular: sunrise and moonrise unlimited by canvas or even glass. You lie in bed and could throw a rock down the hillside. Even South Aftricans could not... more

We stayed at the outpost for 3 days. The outpost was amazing. Our rooms/ spaces had the most fantastic views. You wake up each morning to the sun rising over the valley. The staff were really friendly too. I left the outpost with two negative points: 1. In this part of the kruger there is really hardly any game. You... more

We stayed at the Outpost just before X'mas 2004 and found ourselves pampered with great hospitality and gourmet food. Although that happened to be a quiet week just before X'mas and so we were the only guests there out of the 12-cottage resort and so would have expected undivided attention from the staff there, we were still very impressed with... more

This lodge might not suit everyone (because its rooms are open air), but is absolutely stunning and we would both rate it as the best holiday experience we have ever had, anywhere in the world. The open air elevated spaces give privacy, while being open on 3 sides, and the most incredible views. To wake up with the sun rising... more
