My wife and I chose the Outpost as the getaway venue for our 5 year wedding anniversary, a venue to which my wife had been previously, but under different management at the time. Our expectations were therefore appreciably high and at no point were we disappointed in our choice. The entire team proved to be skilled in great service and... More

Had the fortune of spending 2 nights at the outpost. If you are after the big 5, this is not the place, however if wanting a get away bush adventure with amazing scenery this is the spot!!!... The rooms are amazing- blinds/shutters that roll up into the roof to give you a 270 degree of the Luvuvhu river valley below.... More

We stayed at The Outpost during January 2014 (Some of the hottest times) and found the camp to be cool... uber cool! The accommodation is fantastic and do not listen to "airconditioning" complaints. The airflow system they have works brilliantly! The camp might not be to everybody's taste as it is modern and does not conform to the "bush-lodge" idea,... More

Dear 1972BushBaby Thank you so much for visiting us all the way from Cape Town and the fantastic feedback. You certainly got to see some of the main attractions of the area and I'm thrilled to hear that you have started "birding". You will never regret this ! Lanner Gorge is very special and many of our guests have proposed... More

The Outpost arranged our wedding in the FTF for 30-odd people. Long story short: The perfect lodge setting overlooking the bush and the staff (both onsite and reservations) delivered a once-in-a-lifetime experience that "blew us away". The "spaces" (aka rooms) are unique and are an experience in themselves - one can spend an entire day in one's "space" in serene... More

If you are a birder! This is the place! Stunning views, fantastic birding and great service. The rooms open up on 3 sides and have the most incredible views onto the riverbed. Our guides were very knowledgable - and we saw a wide variety of birds including the summer migrants. The fever tree forest is a must. We celebrated our... More

Dear FamilyBarrow Thank you for the compliments. It is sincerely appreciated. Once again the birding comes to the fore. The birding is always impressive, especially this time of year. The Fever Tree Forest is a must for anyone visiting The Outpost. It really is special. Aaron and Bea are simply wonderful and really do go the extra mile. We look... More

We have just returned from a magical stay at The Outpost which is in one of the most beautiful and remote areas of the Kruger Park - there may not be huge quantities of game but there are different sightings and magnificent birding. The rooms are unique with blinds making up three walls that can be opened onto endless views... More

Dear SR22TSC Thank you for the wonderful feedback. The birding certainly is world class and I hope you were able to tick off a few special species. Alweet is an absolute gem and we are privileged to have him on board. I sincerely hope that it's not too long before you visit us again. Kind regards Richard More

This review is long overdue and I would like to first and foremost apologise to the staff at The Out Post for taking so long to tell them how wonderful they are. My boyfriend and I won a trip to The Out Post in Jan 2014. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and special. The managers Erin and... More

Dear Megan M My apologies for late reply to your fantastic feedback. Thank you for all the compliments. We are extremely fortunate to have the wonderful staff compliment we have at The Outpost. We visited the greater Kruger National Park during December 2013 / January 2014. We stayed at four lodges, 4 nights at The Outpost. Firstly, the reservation office manager, Richard, was outstanding. He attended to all our questions and queries in a most professional, yet relaxed and friendly manner. The managing couple at the lodge, Aaron and Beatrice, are an asset... More

The Outpost is a great lodge in the most northern part of Kruger. We stayed there for 3 nights. Compared to other lodges where we have stayed, the design of the main building as well as the rooms is quite different. However, that adds to the magic of this place The rooms ('spaces') are absolutely spectacular. One entire wall can... More
