Very small but cozy camp especially for nature lovers. The rooms are very basic but they have everything you need. The restaurant is simple but good, it has a few tables inside and more outside. Not much choice for me as a vegetarian but they were able to cook me something, so I was happy. For game viewing, there is... More

A beautiful part of the Kruger National Park with great bird life and magnificent trees. Take a drive up to Crook's Corner and Pafuri picnic site for the day. There's a family of fairly tame Nyala at the picnic site, and a lovely Fever tree forest further along the dirt road to Crook's corner.

Our first time at this camp, it is fairly small and the layout is not as nice as some of the other camps. The permanent tents looked nice and more secluded, but they were booked. The shop is very small as is the restaurant. Although the service can be a bit slow, we enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. We... More

Punda Maria is situated in the North of the Kruger Park. Because the vegetation is somewhat dominated by Mopani trees we didn't find as many animals up here but that didn't bother us as we came for some bird watching which was excellent. The camp isn't nearly as commercial as the camps further south and at times felt quite rustic.... More

The luxury tents in the camp are situated elevated from the rest of the camp which provide a wonderful view over the Mopani Bushes. The unit has en-suite shower & toilet. Love to hear the animal sounds in the night of hyena, baboon and elephant. I had a visit from a fire fly and that made me happy too. Experience... More

We always stay at Punda Maria Camp, it remains one of our favourites in the Kruger. It is a smaller very peaceful camp in a beautiful setting. The busiest place being the caravan & camping area. The hide & the waterhole in front of the caravan park are terrific and a fair amount of game frequents it during the day.... More

Third visit to this restcamp, this time staying for 1 night at the campsite (previously we slept in a luxury tent, which was excellent) The campsite is big and same principle as in most other restcamps, pick your spot, we camped next to the fence (not so much shade although) and not so far from the hide and the waterhole.... We really enjoyed staying here. We booked thinking we just had a basic room, to our surprise it had a fridge with a freezer. The store is well run and stocked with all of what you will need. We had very good game drives, it was our first day in the park, we loved being in places with no other... More

Punda Maria, in the far north of the Kruger park is often maligned as not having as much game as one will find in the Southern regions of the park. We found this assertion completely wrong and throughly enjoyed our 8 nights in one of the oldest camps in the Park. The countryside changes with every mile you drive and... More

Good choice if you want to see northern parts of Kruger Park. Seems to be clean and staff helpful (with small exception in restaurant, when waiter forget to inform us that there is no more t-bone steak that day before he gave us a menu and he said this when i try to order it). We lived in our motorhome... More
