This was our first stay here... and all in all the camp is neat and well kept. But the rooms are literally on top of each other in one long line. So when you open your door about one meter to your right or left your neighbours are right there. So having kids is quite difficult as you're really spending... More

punda maria was our first stop in the kruger national park, at this stage the camping is first come first serve, there are electricity points but one has to have extremely long leads at some camping spots, i think it is the smallest camp of the park, it has small shop, a restaurant, a pool, a laundry with washer and... I stayed here with my family in april 2015. Between us we booked a bungalow and a safari tent. I havto say the safari tent exceeded my expectations. It was lovely with a nice bathroom and kitchen to boot. Definitely worth a stay

I am an ardent supporter of SANPARKS, and always defend them against detractors who lament how standards are declining. I was thus disappointed when we found this accommodation - the most expensive at the restcamp, to be sorely in need of maintenance. Two wood panels missing from the upstairs bathroom, shower fittings loose, sliding door in main bedroom screechingly in... More

Barring for having to do some maintenance myself on the squeaky roof gum pole especially after being promised by the assistant manager and maintenance staff it would be fixed the tented accommodation is a great bushveld experience. We did also think that the tents could do with some long overdue maintenance which the smaller camps at KNP are seriously lacking.... More

Travelling to Punda Maria from Port Elizabeth was quite tiresome but worth it. The 3 bedroomfamily chalet was clean and as a bonus all rooms had an en-suite bathroom. The linen was old and need to be replaced. Kitchen inventory did not correspond with the actual goods and this has to be looked at. One draw back is noisy staff... More

It's a bit of a long haul up to Punda Maria through some of the mopani woods with a lot of elephant and not much else. Quite a reward at the end. We stayed in a safari tent. Terrific accommodation at a very low price. Floodlit walkways, a view over the bush, we had grysbok buffalo and finally bush babys!... More

We spent there 2 nights using our own tent. Camp has plenty of space for tents, campers and other cars. We were able to park our car just next to the tent. All available facilities were on very convenient level. We had spot with "braai"- barbecue, where we cooked meat and made burgers. Barbecues are located next to the fence,... More

After visiting all the restcamps in the KNP, Punda Maria is for us the one camp that stands out. Not because of its grandeur, its well provided shop and restaurant, but because of is authenticity. Small, cosy, friendly and heartwarming place. We were very pleased by the staff in the shop, the restaurant and at the reception. When our car... More

It was our first time going so far north and not really knowing what to expect. Our first night we stayed in a room with no catering. We had brought our own Braai meat and decided to join the communal Braai that evening. Well that was the best decision ever. Just about the whole camp seems to conglomerate around the... More
