We booked one of the excellent luxury tents here for several nights. Lovely accommodation, beautiful views, well equipped for simply self catering and private braai meals. Large fridge. Everything spacious and very clean. Comfy bed and nice bedding. Service and friendliness of staff very good. Nice little shop. Pleasant Snacks (we didn´t have any full meals) at the small restaurant.... More

Punda Maria Rest Camp is on the Northern tip of the Kruger National Park which is not as popular and over-populated as some of the Central and Southern camps. I enjoy this camp for specifically the above. Accommodation is also more available than in some more popular camps and sometimes less expensive. The Pool is a welcome sight on the... More

We rented the family cottage. It was wonderful, very spacious and well laid out. All the cutlery that we needed was available and the unit has a convenient dining area outside, where some nocturnal animals visiting frequently. The staff is very friendly and it is a nice, quiet camp. We had a lovely stay and will certainly visit again.

We stayed in a 3bed bungalow, it is smaller than the usual bungalows in the other camps. To stay in the safari tents is probably a better option. The camp location is great, it is on a waterhole, where we had great sightings: elephants, a huge herd of buffalos, hyena and various antilopes. The restaurant is small, but serves good... More

This was our first stay here... and all in all the camp is neat and well kept. But the rooms are literally on top of each other in one long line. So when you open your door about one meter to your right or left your neighbours are right there. So having kids is quite difficult as you're really spending... More

punda maria was our first stop in the kruger national park, at this stage the camping is first come first serve, there are electricity points but one has to have extremely long leads at some camping spots, i think it is the smallest camp of the park, it has small shop, a restaurant, a pool, a laundry with washer and... I stayed here with my family in april 2015. Between us we booked a bungalow and a safari tent. I havto say the safari tent exceeded my expectations. It was lovely with a nice bathroom and kitchen to boot. Definitely worth a stay

I am an ardent supporter of SANPARKS, and always defend them against detractors who lament how standards are declining. I was thus disappointed when we found this accommodation - the most expensive at the restcamp, to be sorely in need of maintenance. Two wood panels missing from the upstairs bathroom, shower fittings loose, sliding door in main bedroom screechingly in... More

Barring for having to do some maintenance myself on the squeaky roof gum pole especially after being promised by the assistant manager and maintenance staff it would be fixed the tented accommodation is a great bushveld experience. We did also think that the tents could do with some long overdue maintenance which the smaller camps at KNP are seriously lacking.... More

Travelling to Punda Maria from Port Elizabeth was quite tiresome but worth it. The 3 bedroomfamily chalet was clean and as a bonus all rooms had an en-suite bathroom. The linen was old and need to be replaced. Kitchen inventory did not correspond with the actual goods and this has to be looked at. One draw back is noisy staff... More
