Great, quiet camp with natural vegetation everywhere. You can go for walks through the camp and enjoy the impressive view from the viewing deck. The area around Mopani is the best in the park, always being full of surprises and rare sightings. During winter, the abundant Mopani trees give colour to the otherwise dull landscape. The camp is on a... More

Mopani is a very nice rest camp. We stayed in a cottage - very nice with a full kitchen! It is in the center of Kruger and we had excellent wildlife viewing. A big plus is there are no baboons or monkeys to disturb everything, so no worries about food in the frig! It was peaceful and a very nice... More

When in South Africa be sure to visit the Kruger National Park. And when in KNP be sure to stay at Mopani Rest Camp. It is one of the newest camps so the amenities are new, the staff are friendly and the camp has a great feel about it. If you are lucky enough to be in a lake-facing room... More

We've visited the Kruger National Park (KNP) many times over many years. This was the first time we ventured north of the Lataba Rest Camp for accommodation. What a wonderful surprise to discover this gem. The facilities are what you would expect from the KNP, but the service and attention from Sydwell and his team was without compare. We originally... Stayed for two nights and we all wish it could have been SO much longer! The accommodation was extremely tidy - we had a chalet with 4 x beds and all the necessary accompaniments. It was a quiet time and most bungalows and chalets unoccupied which made for a very relaxing experience. The entire camp was well kept although the... More

Stayed at Mopani for one night and wished we had stayed longer, purely for the food! Got upgraded to a 4 bed cottage, was absolutely huge, much larger than expected. Shop same as other SANpark shops (well stocked and good choice, but generally disinterested staff); restaurant however was fantastic in comparison! Great choice and fantastically well presented. When we asked... More

We stayed two nights in Mopani and although we live this camp the accommodation this time was poor. We had no grass on the side of the bungalow. If you lie on the bed you see the sky. Upside was we heard lion, jackal, hyena the whole night. Luckily it did not rain but we had a lot of spiders... More

Travelled as two couples with two kids, stayed for one night at Mopani rest camp in guest cottage. Cottage was large three spacious bedrooms one with ensuite. There was also a separate shower and toilet. Kitchen dining area was large and well equipped, evrything you required and was very clean. The terrace area outside was fab, couldn't fault this accomodation.... More

The relatively small and quiet Mopani Rest Camp has probably the coziest atmosphere of Kruger National Park's camps and, situated high above the Pioneer Reservoir, wonderful and magic views. The bungalows are comfortable and clean. The restaurant has a pretty sitting area with an outdoor, tree-house type veranda - though it couldn't save some disappointment with an overcooked dinner. Typical... More
