This is our favourite rest camp in the park. We prefer the quieter northern part of the park and have stayed at Mopani several times. It's a large modern camp but very quiet and it doesn't feel as large as it is. Try and get a perimeter room. The restaurant is greatly improved since our last visit about 3 years... More

Mopani was our last night in the Kruger and it was a good choice. The camp is super well organised, the cottages are large enough so you can sleep separately from your kid/s and the kitchen area is spacious. The pool area is amazing and the pool was the best and the cleanest we had in the park. We took... More

Mopani is one of the most recent built camps and more modern than the older ones. This peaceful rest camp is named after the Mopani veld that surrounds it and is situated on a Mopani tree covered hill. The indigenous vegetation has been left untouched and all the buildings are built from natural materials such as rough stone, wood and... More

One of our favorite camps, this is our second stay. We selected a fully equipped chalet with air conditioning and a view. Very private arrangement, the chalet outside kitchen and eating area had a magnificent view of the dam. I hear the hippos while preparing breakfast early in the morning. Large boulders near the chalet were great habitat for a... More

We only stayed one night in Mopani - we were travelling through Kruger. We stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage. The cottage was really clean - good towels and bedding. the kitchen was fitted out with all the essentials. It rained really hard - phenomenally in fact! - so here's our suggestion: - provide umbrellas as the rain was unexpected... More

Our stay here was great. All the other camps (excluding animal sightings) were long in the tooth and dirtier. We stayed in a total of 4 camps and Mopani was our first stay and our favorite. The other three camp all had a Mugg & Beans restaurant. That got old after 5 nights. In the Mopani restaurant the menu was... More

Lovely stay! 3 bedroom chalet was lovely! Views were amazing from verandah over the river. This is a big camp but still, so well thought out. There was an independent restaurant and the food was fabulous! Really enjoyed Mopani, the pool, service, game viewing, everything! Well done guys and thanks for a memorable stay. Great shop well stocked with groceries... More

Because we booked at peak time at short notice, we took this camp as an alternative to the more sought-after Oliphants or Satara. So we were not expecting a great deal, but were generally pleasantly surprised. On the plus side we saw three magnificent male lions stalking in the long grass on the camp sunset drive. The restaurant is adequate... More

Travelling the whole of Kruger National Park (Pafuri to Malelane), it is safe to say that Mopani is the bst camp in the northern part of the park. It is clean, well maintained and still captures the safari feel. Other northern camps are disappointing. The restaurant at Mopani is large, has a good range on the menu and looks over... More

Avoid the restaurant at Mopani. The service is bad and the food even worse. Too much salt in the beef patty and they sell some terrible instant coffee as filter coffee. South African National Park should ged rid of this concessioner as they are only creating a negative perception of an otherwise wonderful camp in Kruger.
