Staying in Kruger is always a magical experience. As a South African it's soul food! The staff at the book- in were warm and friendly and knowledgeable we felt very welcome. The accommodation is typically Kruger, clean and comfortable. The kitchen utensils were almost non-existent and we had to fry eggs in a cooking pot! No frying pan available, an... More

Letaba rest camp is situated about 2 hours from Phalaborwa gate in Limpopo, the area has plenty of wildlife if you take your time and look hard. When we entered the park we found 3 of the Big five; lion, leopard ( within less than a metre from our vehicle) as well as elephant all around and by the sable... More

We stayed here 3 nights in the permanent safari tents with communal toilets as part of an Exodus trip to Kruger National Park. The toilets were very inconvenient and unappealing and I would not recommend the tents. However, there are numerous individual bungalows and rondavels on site that looked wonderful, so with a proper tour company this rest camp is... More

Lodges same as 25 years ago. Restaurant run by mugg and bean ..food ok but half the light bulbs needed replacing and the waiter had to borrow our torch to write our order! What a pity that Kruger doesn't do itself any favours...why won't it employ a proper managing director who is accountable for everything, Eco and tourism and raise... More

Lots of shade and space on this very clean and well-kept campsite. Ablution/kitchen facilites were good. Much, much better than Berg-en-dal, Lower Sabie and Satara. Did a superb morning walk from here, led by John: encountered elephant, buffalo and lots more that you wouldn't see from a car.

We spent two nights in a chalet. 2 triple toons with bathrooms in suite. We were lucky to get a really new one. All clean, new and nice. The shop is a bit smaller than others we visited but it is fine. We didn't use the pool or restaurant. So can't comment

The bungalows are pretty basic but clean. The overall camp was clean compared to over a year ago when we last there. The restaurant service was dreadful at dinner, but excellent service for breakfast the next day. You don't have much of a choice if you want to go eat elsewhere. We had an excellent view of the river and... More

We stayed in one of the huts. It had ensuite facilities, fridge, utensils but no cooking facilities...you have to use the communal area. There is a (currently) unlicensed Mugg and Bean restaurant on site, serving a good variety of meals, including a decent vegetarian selection. The shop is well stocked. There is a swimming pool on site, but it isn't... More

Letaba has a great setting and is an attractive camp. The standard huts are basic but adequate, if a little tired. The shop is very good and there were building works underway suggesting further improvements are in hand. Mugg and Bean may be an improvement on what was there before but service was slow, food cold and the restaurant grubby.... More

We stayed here for only one night on our 5 days self driven trip through Kruger National Park. We stayed in a chalet pretty close to the river, equipped with a small kitchenette, fridge and a braai (SA barbecue) and also utensils for using all this. The camp is the newest in the park and it is the most organised... More
