I've stayed at Blyde River Wilderness Lodge several times, both with family and my safari clients. Staff are great, food is wonderful, setting and facilities first rate. Great birding in and around the lodge.

The lodge is at the end of a bone jarring road that takes a good 20 minutes to navigate although the instructions provided were really clear. The lodge is built next to the river amongst manicured lawns and the pool. The rooms are spacious and have a verandah to watch the world go by. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace... More

The lodge is hidden away in the middle of nature, by the river. it is not in the canyon and quite a drive away from it. the property is beautiful with nyalas grazing on the lawn, two swimming pools, everything very well kept, good food and lovely fresh flowers in the rooms decorating the beds and even the bathroom. we... The lodge is located on the river margin. Amazing place into the nature. It is not close to the city, or the tar road. The canyon is definitely not close by. If the idea is to enjoy the lodge and relax, this is a perfect choice. The gardens are well maintained, swimming pools were clean. You can find Nyalas and... More

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the room was nice and the food for dinner was good. One night the dinner starter was changed to fish without letting anyone know which was both disappointing (as I don’t like fish) and dangerous due to many people having allergies, and while the breakfast buffet was nice (with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal…),... The lodge is an exellent location to explore the Blyde River Canyon area. After a roughly 6 km drive on a gravel road (easily ridable with every common car) you reach a little paradise with nice rooms and self catering cottages. Enjoy the nature while sitting on your terrace and whatch rhinos and crocodiles in the river. The restaurant with... More

Blyde River Wilderness Lodge is a lovely oasis in the bush. Owl House is a beautiful stone under thatch chalet (fully self-contained if you have the desire to cook). The grounds, gardens and pools are beautifully kept. Hippos (two at least) live in the river and zebra and giraffe can be seen in the bush outside the gates. I was... More

We stopped for one night enroute from Limpopo toward Kruger and had little expectation except hoping for comfortable sleep and good enough food. Lodge was quite lovely with beautiful grounds. Room was quite nice with lots of attention to decor and ambiance, though more light is needed in both bedroom and bathroom. Dinner was relaxing -- food was fine, though... More

Blyde river wilderness lodge is a beautiful place to stay for a night while passing through to Krugerpark. They have a small reserve next to it with giraffes and zebra's where you can freely walk around in. The nyala's can stop at your doorstep to eat some vegetation. In the river there should be some crocodiles and hippos, but unfortunately... More

Booked accommodation to overnight whem leaving the KNP. The setting next to the river is great and the service was good. Although a little pricey the evening meal was good. Will be a great place to stay if one needs a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
