Old establishment that could do with a revamp, but is still comfortable and clean. However, staff could be more friendly and enthusiastic (informed) about explaining "what-to-do" in the area. That said, the receptionist on duty when we arrived was very accommodating and allowed us into our room well before the "allotted" 2pm! Dining / entertainment facilities were disappointing! From the... More

We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and pleasant. What we missed was a hair dryer a bar fridge and the fact that we couldn't phone reception for room services or to order ice or something. No glasses or anything in the room. But it didn't make our stay unpleasant and I would really recommend your establishment.

An excellent location next to the Touw River. Attractive buildings and grounds. However, the stay was spoiled by no hot water and lighting problems in first room so we had to be moved, where we again found electrical problems. It seems that the hotel needs a lot of maintenance to get it up to an acceptable standard. Staff friendly and... More

The only positive thing about the hotel are the beautiful surroundings. The general buildings and grounds are run down. The room and en-suite bathroom were clean but could do with a facelift. No complimentary toiletries were provided. The hotel couldn't provide dinner (which was advertised with a free bottle of wine) and the breakfast was limited.

Was a bit hesitant after reading some of the other reviews. Was pleasantly surprised. Was in Room 27. This is large with balcony facing the lagoon. Shower in bath never a favourite but water pressure excellent. Beds firm, but slept well. Breakfast old school full buffet. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Historic hotel in beautiful setting. Breakfast and service need some work to move the hotel into the 21st century. Overall, good value for money but recommend considering having breakfast down the road in the village. I would go again.

I loved the old worldy-ness of the place but feel the hotel does need some love and attention. It could do with an interior designer to maybe combine old and new. The place was kept very clean and cleaning and restaurant staff were extremely helpful. The day reception staff were as friendly or helpful. I think Eden Adventures should also... More

So disappointed, have stayed many times at the Fairy Knowe, this time I wanted to visit , emailed them to reserve a room, no reply at all, arrived on the day to be told the rates have changed , no mid week pensioners discount, the bar and restaurant are now not open in the evening. The canoes and pedalos are... More

Staff at Fairy Knowe Hotel is very friendly and helpful. Nice location and beautiful views. Room was average. The bath was not put in properly and cracks badly when you stand in the bath to shower. Feels like you going to fall through. ( Bungalow nom 17 )My little girl badly wanted to swim in the pool but it was green... More

Staying at the Fairy Knowe is always a nostalgic and heartwarming experience. As South African emigrants to Canada, we have made periodic trips to the Wilderness. This was another one of those trips and the experience brought back some heartwarming and wonderful memories. Although the hotel is not at five-star status, it nevertheless possesses an unmistakable charm and has a... More
