We were welcomed By Ilse and despite having a damaged leg she attended to all our needs with a smile. We loved the large spacious double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. They were spotlesly clean. The private stoep overlooking the river was perfect for a sundowner. The breakkfast was adequate but we felt perhaps an alternative choice should be made available. Overall we... More

Disappointed. Room smelt of cigarette smoke and was freezing cold when we arrived. Even though I booked for three I had to ask for the correct number of towels and extra bedding. There were no tennis balls available to play tennis. Table tennis table net broken. Signs said no hot water until 6pm - later after complaining we found there... More

Being the only guests was peaceful but a bit eiry. The setting is gorgeous. With a river facing room we watched many birds and reflections in the Touws river. The rest is sad. A grande old dame neglected and forgotten. Beds were comfy with nice linen. But bare bed bases, old towels, leaking toilets, cheap cofee with plastic spoons and... More

we always stay at fairy Knowe for past 13 years and it is always nice - good value for money and a decent breakfast. Needs a slight upgrade in certain sections though particularly the older double story accommodation and the inside of the bation.ungalows can do with a slight moderniz

I have stayed at Fairy Knowe seven times on trips to George for farm shopping supplies. I love the setting and have always had a passion for old hotels. It is a soulful place and has major potential. Unfortunately the needed investment needed to boost this gem is just not there. To keep it afloat for now I suggest the... More

We had river rooms which had a lovely view on the river. The rooms were clean and bed linen good. Rooms are spacious. Bathrooms were old with the shower in the bath, but quite functional. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Parking comfortable.

We have read the reviews of a lot of guests. Unfortunately I didn't have the impression about a relaxing place to stay. The rooms were clean but the hotel is completely run down. The breakfast service was not really good and not even the entertainment area was in a good shape. We had fun nevertheless but wouldn't recommend this place... More

It is very relaxing, we upgrade to a river side room. We had a balcony where we had a bottle of wine from the Winelands, Paarl. There is also some activities you can book at the hotel. Unfortunately dinner was not served, but there is excellent restaurants nearby in Wilderness which I do recommend.

It was nice and relaxing for a mini break. It is a perfect destination for unwinding and spending quality time with family. I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again later in the year! xxxxxxx
