My wife and I were on our honeymoon travelling the Garden Route in South Africa and stopped over for a night in the Wilderness Hotel. We first went there just for Sunday lunch which was superb. It was a buffet lunch with beef roast , chicken, delicious vegetebles . Their cream spinach is DIVINE!. We then decided to stay a... More

The room was more than comfortable and a wonderful set up for those travelling with children, affording easy access with privacy as required. The staff are very friendly and obliging in every way. The breakfast provided something for all tastes. The swimming pool area affords a wonderful opportunity for peaceful relaxation with the added bonus of the beach nearby. Unlike... More

Excellant service and lovely location. Breakfast was good value for money. pity you dont have a liquor licence or a resturant so you can eat in the hotel at night. Reception was most helpful when we asked for more coffee and sugar.h

We happened upon this hotel in a small emergency. We received the support required. We chose to spend the night and were not disappointed. The room was clean and spacious. We slept very comfortably. Breakfast was served upstairs in a lovely old dining room. The hotel is old and we felt in need of some attention as our bathroom mirror... More

We passed through Wilderness to find a gem of a hotel. It had been closed for 3 years and been bought over by new owners. Not all the wings are open as the hotel is being renovated/refurbished. We stayed in a room which was spacious, clean and neat. It might not have all the stars, but certainly enjoyed a wonderful... More

My family and I visited in April 2014 ... wonderful trip, very central to what's going on; it is an older hotel, huge, needs visitors, new management doing well. Breakfast buffet style, good. Enjoyed our stay, so much so that we return for another visit next week. Another adventure for Jo'burgers, catching the train to Beaufort West in the Karoo,... More

We attended a wedding at the hotel and subsequently spent the night. The hotel is located in the pretty village of Wilderness, situated in a beautiful setting. The wedding venue, catering and service were excellent. We found our room comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was a feast - and we particularly enjoyed their home-made naartjie marmalade. Staff in the restaurant... More

Thank you so much for your kind words about The Wilderness Hotel. The staff have been working hard since we reopened in March, and they'll be excited to read that their efforts have paid off. Pleased you enjoyed the marmalade, too! More
