We happened upon this hotel in a small emergency. We received the support required. We chose to spend the night and were not disappointed. The room was clean and spacious. We slept very comfortably. Breakfast was served upstairs in a lovely old dining room. The hotel is old and we felt in need of some attention as our bathroom mirror... More

We passed through Wilderness to find a gem of a hotel. It had been closed for 3 years and been bought over by new owners. Not all the wings are open as the hotel is being renovated/refurbished. We stayed in a room which was spacious, clean and neat. It might not have all the stars, but certainly enjoyed a wonderful... More

My family and I visited in April 2014 ... wonderful trip, very central to what's going on; it is an older hotel, huge, needs visitors, new management doing well. Breakfast buffet style, good. Enjoyed our stay, so much so that we return for another visit next week. Another adventure for Jo'burgers, catching the train to Beaufort West in the Karoo,... More

The breakfast was realy very ggod and was enjoyed by all. I beleive that the new owners are and will bring a great deal of pleasure for persons who would love a... More

We attended a wedding at the hotel and subsequently spent the night. The hotel is located in the pretty village of Wilderness, situated in a beautiful setting. The wedding venue, catering and service were excellent. We found our room comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was a feast - and we particularly enjoyed their home-made naartjie marmalade. Staff in the restaurant... More

Thank you so much for your kind words about The Wilderness Hotel. The staff have been working hard since we reopened in March, and they'll be excited to read that their efforts have paid off. Pleased you enjoyed the marmalade, too! More

Stayed here on the 25th of April 2014, a few weeks after reopening the hotel! Clean and neat, still a bit of cosmetic changes here and there that they are busy with, but staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we had a very enjoyable overnight experience! Glad it's open again!

This hotel is o good option for a stop during the garden route trip. Breakfast was a mess, thats true... But after that, the swimming pool and other areas were empty and we enjoyed it almost by ourselves. There is no beach service, chairs or umbrellas. Overall, don't expect too much, but you will have a nice room, clean towels... More

we recently stayed at the Wilderness Hotel forf one night while travelling back to Cape Town, the staff were very helpful. Booked for two nights but changed booking to one night after exploring the hotel and facilities. Apparently the previous owners packed up and left after the spin off of the World Cup and the previous owners had to take the hotel back. On arrival the hotel smelled damp. Besides my family I only saw three other couples staying there. The... More
