Lovely family and very safe location. The restaurant was really perfect. Rooms are very comfortable. Bathroom a bit small for obese people. Make a trip to Oudshoorn and treat yourself with an ostrich handbag at Lugro-Ostrich Langenhoven Road.Drive to Prince Albert via Swartbergpass and return via Meiirngspoortpass

Elsabe, with Phillip in the background, is the perfect host here at Serendipity. A great location on the edge of the Lagoon and with just 4 rooms, all on the top floor, is ideally situated for Knysna (40 minutes), George (15 minutes) and Plettenberg Bay (75 minutes). Her daughters in-house dining extravaganza saves the car journey to elsewhere. Check out... More

We celebrated our son's 21st birthday at Serendipity. It was an unforgettable evening, from start to finish. Great chef, great host, amazing attention to detail! We loved the chef's clever "interpretation" of various traditional South African dishes. She and her husband make an exceptional team. We will forever have happy memories of this day, which include excellent food, fabulous wines,... More

I have been hearing great things about this restaurant for years and finally got to have dinner there. We were not dissappointed. The four course meal was fantastic. The chef is creative and in a sense playful with food , and each course was a delight. The food is authentically South African but with a contemporary flair. We had the... More

We stayed in Serendipity for two nights and really loved the place. The view from the terrace is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms very nice and the service really great. They think about many details like a basket with towels for the beach. Breakfast was excellent and the two dinners in the restaurants were clearly the culinary highlight of our... More

Serendipity was a lovely peaceful location to stay, after a long drive it was great to put your feet up on the veranda looking over the lake. The meal in the restaurant was a highlight to the stay, a very talented chef. All the staff were so helpful. Would go back again.

A warm welcome at the lovely b&b. Nice room that was immaculately clean with lots of nice little extra touches. Breakfast was superb. We ate in the restaurant which was also excellent. We would happily stay again and recommend.

We stayed just one night here in February 2014 and had a memorable dinner. The best meal we have ever had in SA. Eat your heart out Master Chef! Our room was lovely too and we will certainly return when we visit SA again.

We came here specifically to celebtrate my husband's birthday as part of our trip along the Garden Route. It was a perfect choice! It is primarily a restaurant - intimate, tucked away in a residential area - but with four rooms upstairs that share a lovely terrace/balcony overlooking the WIlderness lagoon. The restaurant had such fantastic reviews that it was... More
