Sani Backpackers was a great stopover for us. Small simple rooms and a heated common area with kitchen. Had a great time on the Day tour to Lesotho with Paul - very knowledgable man. Highly recommend for a few days stay to get the feel of the area. Wifi is not available in common area only at the cafe next... More

We booked Aloe Cottage & a rondavel for 2 nights in June for a family get-together. Aloe is extremely comfortable & very cosy (it was rather chilly when we were there in June). Well equipped kitchen with lots of frying pans (nonstick too - yay). They also supply you with a coffee plunger & ground coffee which is a pleasant... More

Lots of attention to detail. Endless information. Comfortable and warm sitting area. Helpful and attentive managers. Way ahead of other backpackers in vicinity we have stayed at. Plan to return soon in summer.

I chose to stay in a single rondaval as I wanted to be able to leave my bike in my room. The rondaval was tiny but I think this made a big difference when it was so cold outside. I had everything I needed including a kettle and tea and coffee which was an unexpected touch. There was access to... More

We spent four perfect nights here staying in a Rondavel - comfortable, cosy and warm. Everything was clean and our room was serviced every day. The restaurant served great food at a reasonable price, otherwise there is a kitchen to self cater. We did several of the guided walks, all with knowledgeable, experienced guides and they were good value. Thank... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, everything was clean and organised. We spent a night in a standard double room which was warm and cosy. They even went the extra mile and kept our rooms available so we could shower after our cycle race. Thank you so much we will definitely be back again.

Booking was easy and prompt with e-mail correspondence. On arrival we struggled to find anyone around, but eventually someone came along. We were shown to our room and given a quick tour, Food at the adjacent restaurant is absolutely fantastic, a nice big hearty home cooked meal. Firewood for the fire pit has to be provided for by yourself, woudl... More

I stayed over in Honeyguide cottage with my wife and a friend for one night while doing the Sani2c mountain bike ride. The cottage is neat and spacious, except for the 2nd bedroom which has no space except for the 2 beds that are crammed in there. The hot water seems a bit temperamental (I had a cold shower early... Honeyguide cottage was purpose built for a couple in the main bedroom with two small children on a bunk bed. The cottage grew in popularity and guests asked us to replace the bunk with two single beds instead. Not a single guest has complained about this arrangement. Just days after you left, our builder started the new addition of another... More

Sani Lodge is quite a homely hostel. The dorms are small, four bed. The shared bathrooms nothing special but OK. The common kitchen and seating areas are lovely though. If you don't want to self cater there is also a reasonably priced cafe out the front.

Thanks for your comments. Glad you enjoyed the homely ambience at the Lodge. We always preferred places like this on our travels over music blaring or noisy bars taking over. We have already designed new ablutions over and above the existing ones with a couple of new glass door showers and spacious change rooms, each with mountain views, plus more... More
