Opon arrival the first thing you see is the pool and the lekker deck. We booked a private room with a double bed and when we came we found out we got a private rondavel, which is basically a round hut. Very cool! There is a cafe called Giants Cup Cafe with nice breakfast and dinner, shop and with internet,... More

Me and my friends stayed at Sani Lodge for 3 nights and we really enjoyed our time there. We also did the Lesotho daytrip with Drakensberg Adventures there, which was worth every cent. It is another world and being so close to it, it is a must do ! You learn so much about their culture and their country, it... More

We stopped over here for 2 nights in two rondavels. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food served at the cafe at the bottom of the road was just lovely and well priced. The views are spectacular and there is an honesty bar and you can have your washing done for R45 for a massive basket. No fault... More

Much effort has been taken to ensure a wonderful experience. Kudos to Russell and team for maintaining such a tight outfit! The honeyguide cottage was very comfortable for a family of four, with one ensure toilet and one common toilet. There was also great views of the Khanti summit and thr Stromness trail - get a booklet from the reception,... More

Sani Lodge was a pleasant and affordable place to stay in the southern Drakensberg with great access to some lovely walking. A trip up to Sani Pass and Lesotho, with Phillip as our guide, was a wonderful experience. He has a great sense of humour but watch out, he likes to take the mickey out of Australians... Or maybe that... More

This place was great! They have beautiful views, a pool (we didn't use it because ya know, winter) restaurant, warm fire place, and a great staff. We checked in, our names were already on their board for arrivals, and we were taken to our room. Shared bathrooms were just outside and had plenty of HOT water. At night, they start... More

We were able to book tours up the Sani Pass with the staff and everything was easilly taken care of. Hi, thank you for mentioning this as we do take the warmth of our guests seriously. And the fact that you were kept warm in the coldest of winters, is great feedback! We have Jersey cows to keep up the... More

Wonderful place to stay, very peaceful and excellent views of the surrounding mountains. The dorm beds are warm, there is a fire kept burning in the common room and a friendly long-furred cat. The only downside we experienced was that when we arrived (evening-ish) there was no-one around to check us in, and we had to go on a short... More

A very nice hostel in a great location. Stayed at the private randovale and were very pleased with accommodation. Activities booked through the lodge were great. If you are in drakensberg and looking for budget accommodation with good value for money this is the place Food at the adjacent restaurant was good as well and too expensive The hike to... More

Sani Lodge is a good backpackers. It means that it's cheap but quite basic accomodation. The rondavels are a better option (not so much expensive) than the rooms with shared ablutions. But the main positive point about that place is the Sani Pass tours. You will have a very good experience of Lesotho (Philip is awesome!) spending a full day... More

Thank you for your write up about our Lodge. We provide more than a Tourism Grading Council graded Four star Backpackers that we are, but prefer not to become Five star as that would translate to increased prices. We have always preferred to remain at the lower end of the pricing structure in the Backpacking market as we have been... More

I had a really great stay at Sani Lodge and was really pleased with the accomodation and Lesotho tour which was organised for me. The service was exceptional especially from Russell (prior to my arrival) Scholar (throughout my stay) and Matthew on the 2 day tour of Lesotho. I would really recommend this hostel and the Lesotho tour.
