We were looking for just a room, but they were full so had to take a cabin. It was just average and more money than we wanted to spend, but the view from the common viewing area was nice and the fireplace in the common area was welcoming. We heard from others in the rooms that several of them had... More

Was welcomed immediately, pointed to our camping spot away from the main house but with everything necessary nearby. Ablutions and scullery. Very friendly and helpful staff. Arrived with wet wood for our braai so the neighbour helped us out. Pristine camping ablutions, good camp ground. Close to Underberg and Sani Pass which was ideal for us.

I spent a few days there and every day had its very own highlight. And everything is embedded in the beautiful green and rural site and the friendly and helpful staff, assisting you choosing and setting up your adventures. The dorms are quite small, nice equipped and clean, so are the bathrooms. The rondavels are just amazing, I enjoyed it... More

The rondavals are very rustic and had never stayed in one before and it was more than efficient. The grounds are natural and the little diner/shop cosy. Although it was raining when we left for Sani Pass it was sunny and hot up at the top. But don't be fooled when the mist arrived was quite chilly so take note... More

We stopped by, just before starting the Sani Pass climb. We wanted to make sure we'll have some food with us and maybe see something different before we leave South Africa and head for Lesotho (for a few days). Indeed we bought several craft items, some excellent home-made cookies and even a great home-made ice-cream. The place is lovely -... More

We stayed at Sani Lodge for 3 nights to discover the southern Drakensberg Mountains. From the very first to the last minute, our stay was simply remarkable. We stayed at the Aloe Cottage, which is one of three self-catering cottages. It was super cozy, quite spacious and very well-equipped - perfect for families with up to 2 children! While the... More

My boyfriend and I stumbled across Sani Lodge on a recent road trip in S.Africa. The common room is very cosy and I felt right at home instantly, the kitchen clean and well equipped with beautiful views of the Drakensburg. I couldn't recommend enough going on a tour with 'Drakensburg Adventures' who operate from the lodge. Our guide Philip was... More

We spent one night only at the lodge, the rondavel was nice, and the people very sweet. What we appreciate the most was the two days trip in Lesotho( poney treck), organized by Sani Lodge. We had the best tour guide ever: Matthew William, a very passionated guy, who's been working in Lesotho for 10 years. He knows a lot... More

Located at the bottom of the Sani Pass, this backpackers is terrific. Russell, the owner, is hands-on and always around to mingle with guests and handle any problems though we didn't experience any. We stayed in the en-suite rondavels which were great value. Meals are available at the Giant's Cup Cafe. Swimming pool, lounge area, Drakensberg Tour bookings on site.... More

Opon arrival the first thing you see is the pool and the lekker deck. We booked a private room with a double bed and when we came we found out we got a private rondavel, which is basically a round hut. Very cool! There is a cafe called Giants Cup Cafe with nice breakfast and dinner, shop and with internet,... More
