We stayed in the Bower house and absolutely loved it. So peaceful and picturesque. Great walk down along the river. The Bower house is great for couples, with a massive bed and double shower. Especially loved the lodge dogs - Theodore and Jackson! Will definitely be back. W

We had a 2 night stay at this self-catering establishment in the Unit Pied B. Lovely view of the river. Nice walkways and although the cottages are close to the main road, it is very quiet and peaceful. All that you need is in the cottage, fully equipped kitchen. Braai on the stoep and fire place inside. They provide 1... More

Warm welcome, lovely view of the river. Pied A and B bedrooms absolutely gorgeous. Very comfy beds, but proper double electric blankets would be an advantage over the shared single one provided. Bedding was a little sparse for the middle of winter - good thing we took a blanket. Plumbing to the shower somewhat dodgy, and water pressure very low.... More

We spent 6 nights in the Woodland Cottage with our family of two adults and 3 kiddies. What a lovely big house. Double storey house had everything you would expect for a holiday in the Berg. Lovely walks in the morning, loads for the kids to do whilst we relaxed in the Adult Lounge! Lynne was a very warm and... More

It was lovely to be there in winter but we cant wait to return in the summer. The geyser needs to be bigger, as there was limited hot water or a shower added on would be great! Steven is an absolute gem!

Our stay was pleasant at Umzimkulu. We stayed in winter when it was very cold & we don't have any children so couldn't make use of the many outdoor activities that the lodge offers. I think Umzimkulu would be amazing in summer with kids, there is just so much for them to do. The rooms were well appointed & the... More

We had a lovely stay at the big wooden cabin for our parents 50the wedding anniversary; all the way from the Netherlands to this magic place along the Umzimkulu. The Giant Kingfisher cabin is situated directly on the river, is very private and with luxurious finishings: leather couches, good beds, nice collections of books and DVD's and tasteful decorations. Even... More

We needed a petfriendly place But with all the standard luxuries Beware it can be very cold !! so come prepared. But there are beautiful panoramic views that surounds you if you want to experience nature and wanting to getaway from the "Rat race" in the city and rediscover yourself. And You can go exploring.. grab a bite to eat... More

I is a wonderful place. The scenery and tranquillity is wonderful. All I would suggest is TV's in every chalet as there is not much to do there. Overall it was great. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest, this is it. Just don't go there in winter, it was very cold.

The room was beautiful, the view even better, and waking up to the sound of the river was the best. A perfect family spot with play area, petting zoo and plenty of grassy space for our 1yr old to explore.
