I have stayed at this delightful spot on several occasions but when I tried to book again by telephone in April 2012 there was a message on the answering machine saying that Briar Ghyll was no longer taking in guests. This is sad as it was a truly delightful guest house situated in park-like gardens of great beauty and yet... More

This house was built in the 1800's and has been perfectly maintained/restored. It sits high on a hill overlooking the city but feels like you are far away in your own garden paradise. The sprawling grounds are perfectly manicured and highlighted by brilliant purple and pink flowers. We stayed in our own gorgeous little cottage - complete with a sitting... More
