My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Malala Lodge and partook in the 2 night safari special, which is incredible value in both Rands and Pounds, however you look at it. The lodge is just lovely and has a rustic African air to it:) Loved the local, seemingly 'tame' wildebeest who casually greeted us at the entrance of the lodge... More

For the 2nd time we visited Malala, this time with family from overseas. And again, what a great time, Jane cooks a fantastic dinner and Pete does a fantastic game drive (make sure to leave the last muffin for him). The accommodation was clean and tidy. The hosts always pleasant and incredibly helpful. Keep and eye open for "Steven" the... More

Stayed here three years ago as a couple and when our 30 year old son stated that he wanted to join us in South Africa this year we knew that Malala Lodge had to one of the places we should take him. We had the three night safari special and it certainly meet our combined needs. The family of Pete, Jane... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights on a recent trip to SA. We found the Pete Paul and Jane, very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and the hospitality was excellent. We went for the safari special and had a fabulous game drive with Pete and found him very knowledgable, the trip around St Lucia lake was... More

We were looking for a base for our trip to Hluhluwe/Umfolozi, and Malala turned up on our search. We stayed three nights and it was just right for us - nestled in the bush, neat and clean but without the flashiness of some of the other lodges we saw. The food was excellent, and the Harvey family were good hosts.... More

We spent three wonderful nights and days at this beautiful Lodge. The family atmosphere was so relaxing. The gorgeous cottages set among the trees were very clean and comfortable. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived and when we left we felt like part of the family. The food was delicious. Nothing fancy and inedible. Just... More

My family and I recently visited Malala Lodge from the UK after a recommendation from a friend in Durban. The chalets were very clean, as was the entire lodge. Jane, Pete and Paul could not have done more to make our stay so enjoyable and my children loved the game drive. We thoroughly recommend Malala Lodge Lance Attwell & Family... More

Where do I start? Ideally situated between St Lucia and Hluhluwe parks you find a down-to-earth lodge which has everything you could ask for. Well, if you ask for a 5-star lodge with all fancyness then you don´t find it here. But what you find is a dedicated family with the charming and friendly hostess Jane, who produces great tasting...
