Friendly staff en very nice guide doing the walking safari, recommended. Very quiet location, which is nice. Walking alley between lodges and restaurant is fine.Look out deck is a nice place to sit and watch animals at the waterhole. Food is just food, nothing more. Whole place need maintenance: bathroom not to clean, carpet on the floor gives you black... More

This hotel was unique in that it is situated in the woods in a nice setting. The rooms are basic with little frills or amenities you are accustomed to. But that is expected considering the proximity to Kruger National Park. This lodge is all about location and not ambiance or glamour.

This is really in the Bushland of Zulu territory. You stay in cabins. Woke up one morning to Impalas almost on the front porch. Walked to dinner with zebras along the way and giraffes watching us at night. No phones and Internet only at the dining room but unreliable. Bush baby feeding at night very cute. Very nice staff who... More

The rooms are dated, but who cares because we loved the environment! The lodge buildings are within a small reserve that is home to giraffes, cudu, wildebeest, and Impala. Some rooms overlook the grazing area. There are also bush babies that come out at night. Food was good and staff were nice. We enjoyed the gigantic outdoor fire pit in... More

This was our first trip up north and we booked mid April for the end of July. I was only informed two weeks before we were due to arrive that we would not be staying in the log cabins advertised on the website and was sent pictures of the 'family unit' we had been 'upgraded' to. I was horrified. Even... More

The room was old and dirty. The walls had stains, the bathroom tile had grunge, and my feet looked nearly black from walking on the carpet. The mattress was saggy and too soft, The only interesting thing about the site was that bush babies visited a spot near the restaurant at dusk. I got a couple good pictures of one.... More

Loved this hotel. It was a long walk to our room but when we got there we saw giraffe and other animals. It was so awesome. There is a viewing deck and lots of other amenities. Not your typical hotel, which is the experience that I wanted while in South Africa.

No one is available at this game lodge after 7 PM, they give you a 24 hour phone number to call. we had a problem at 8:30 PM, we called for over an hour and NO ONE answered the 24 hour emergency line. Finally when someone answered, they said they would send someone, NO ONE came ALL night. Very poor... More

I was given a very shabby room very far from reception / dining area. I dealt with it for first night but asked for a different room the next day -- manager refused to come to reception; the supervising grounds keeper finally took it upon himself to move me to more suitable accommodation - the new room far superior!! needless... Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we were fully booked on your first night. You were assisted by a Ranger/ Duty Manager and not a Grounds Keeper who was only able to move you on the second night due to availability. Bushlands Game Lodge strives to offer excellent food and service so thank you for these comments. More
