This was advertised as a 4 star Boutique Hotel but disappointed on every level. No DSTV/Cable TV. No minibar. No wifi in the room. Restaurant food was poor. Extremely noisy. No coffee or Rooibos in the room. Would not recommend.

We visited Durban recently with my wife and son, we were going budget so Emakhosini popped up when we were searching around for a nice place to stay. We were welcomed by a very nice and friendly front desk staff. The bed was large enough for us, they even changed rooms for higher floor with a cool view. Downside to... More

The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast, was promised a full english breakfast, was terrible.old cheese and hair in the yoghurt!an omelette drifting in oil!definite no no.the supper?tasteless fish!non existing wine list. The room huge but the carpet dirty.no bath mats.shower floor dirty could be a health hazard!bed old and worn out. Such a beautiful building deserve more attention and respect!... More

Rooms are okay but small things that need repairs have been left. The restaurant wasn't operating on a Saturday evening despite being told it was. We had to go buy woollies snacks at the petrol station. Noisy party and some sort of 'card playing' going on. Stay away from this place.

Visited SA in April 2015 and booked to stay at the eMakhosini Boutique Hotel after it had been recommended by some friends. This hotel couldn't have been more perfect. Upon arrival and throughout our stay the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms were spacious and very clean, as was the rest of... More
