Just wished to express our appreciation to the staff and management of the eMakhosini Boutique Hotel for the exceptional service that was offered to us over our two day conference. The rooms were cozy, clean and fresh. The staff were ever so courteous and friendly. They responded promptly to any requests. The food was lovely, the Exec chef was ever... More

At first when you arrive there is a nice feeling about the hotel, the pool area and overall architecture looks quite nice, but once you start looking behind doors it’s not nice. As soon as we got to the room the smell of dust and mold was evident and very uncomfortable, adding this to the fully outdated décor showed that... More

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night recently. It is looking very run down. The staff are friendly & helpful enough but the rooms & public areas are very tired. My room was a good size but the carpet was both dirty (stained) & worn. The bathroom was worse, 1 shower door was missing, the basin was cracked &... More

Nice exterior is REALLY misleading. Other than clean linen and friendly reception staff everything was a mess! Missing shower door, broken toilet seat and basin light fitting hanging down the wall, towel rail pulling from the wall, - the list is endless!! Local staff and -guests were noisy all night long. No answer at Reception or Room Service even after... More

A group of our employees stayed there during June 2013. The red lights did go on when this establishment (as well as their sister hotel) was the only one with availability for our required dates, but we simply had to be in Durban for these dates. I stayed at eMakhosini during 2006 and back then it was an excellent establishment.... More

Noisy, unprofessional, unpleasant. We stayed in room 24. It was meant to be one of the best rooms in the hotel - according to the receptionist. It was sort of in the basement and opened straight onto the car park. No cover from the rain and every car that arrived or left disturbed us. Including a big arrival at 4.30am!... More

Stayed there for a week in summer and I loved every minute of it. It's a small place, but very cozy. Staff is friendly and ready to help you with anything needed. View from the room was amazing. Even had little visitors outside, local wildlife what I think is interesting. Would love to stay there again on my next visit.

We recently stayed at the Emakhosini hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff were exceptional, there was nothing more that they could have done to make us so welcome and comfortable. The rooms have the most amazing features and as our friends stayed in some rooms as well, we managed to see that each room was different but tastefully... More
