I had an absolutely lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is 24 hr security and the hotel is situated in a very safe suburb of Durban. The food at the PL8 restaurant was fantastic and very reasonable.

The staff are excellent. The location safe and quiet. Food fresh and simple. We have stayed there twice since they opened for 2 weeks at a time and would go again. Let's hope the management hasn't changed.

The hotel is affordable, clean, functional and the team is super friendly. The location is lovely and scenic. Its close to Florida road, however don't skip on the Plate's food. Their foods are comforting, plated with flair and inexpensive. I would return to this hotel in the future when travelling to Durban.

Fantastic hotel. Not your standard business hotel - but that's a good thing! Very simple, but has all the things you want and need, so the simplicity actually translates into a very comfortable place to stay. Rooms were very nice (the ones in the main house feature very high ceilings & lovely victorian windows), the lobby restaurant/bar is extremly accomodating... More

My rating is actually 3 1/2 (good), but there's no option between average & very good! If you've never read a review by me: I write A LOT so I can give as much info as possible. Also, I rate the places I've stayed at according to the type of place they are - so if I were to give... More

I started off not being impressed. I felt that the neighbourhood was a bit cold and there were no ramps at the entrance. But was soon charmed by Tara, who gave me a warm reception. I love the red and creamy-white design. They give you a "red carpet" service, literally. I actually love the way the ladies that work there..... More

I stayed at this place on the following dates 02-03 May 2013. Prices are very reasonable, nice rooms, very friendly staff members including the security guards. They always welcome their guests with a bottle of red wine, that taste so nice. They also serve nice T-bone and vegetables.

I stayed here for one night on business. I was in a group of four and everyone seemed happy with the overall experience. The lunch and dinner were both very good and had a decent choice on both menus. As advertised, the hotel doesn't have a gym or pool so maybe not desirable for a family holiday. Centrally locate and... More
