We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is not a beach front hotel but the location is quiet. It is also very convenient. Florida Road is less than 500 meters away and there are no lack of restaurants there. The hotel rooms are on 2 floors. We asked for a quiet room and was given one right at... More

We stayed there over the Comrades 2014 weekend. At arrival everything was perfect. They took us to this amazingly spacious room, and at first glance everything was perfect. We had dinner in PL8 restaurant, which was delicious. At night we realised the bathroom light does not work. Early the next morning at 6:10 the bedroom light started going on and... More

The staff are excellent. The location safe and quiet. Food fresh and simple. We have stayed there twice since they opened for 2 weeks at a time and would go again. Let's hope the management hasn't changed.

The hotel is affordable, clean, functional and the team is super friendly. The location is lovely and scenic. Its close to Florida road, however don't skip on the Plate's food. Their foods are comforting, plated with flair and inexpensive. I would return to this hotel in the future when travelling to Durban.

Fantastic hotel. Not your standard business hotel - but that's a good thing! Very simple, but has all the things you want and need, so the simplicity actually translates into a very comfortable place to stay. Rooms were very nice (the ones in the main house feature very high ceilings & lovely victorian windows), the lobby restaurant/bar is extremly accomodating... More

My rating is actually 3 1/2 (good), but there's no option between average & very good! If you've never read a review by me: I write A LOT so I can give as much info as possible. Also, I rate the places I've stayed at according to the type of place they are - so if I were to give... More

I started off not being impressed. I felt that the neighbourhood was a bit cold and there were no ramps at the entrance. But was soon charmed by Tara, who gave me a warm reception. I love the red and creamy-white design. They give you a "red carpet" service, literally. I actually love the way the ladies that work there..... More

I stayed at this place on the following dates 02-03 May 2013. Prices are very reasonable, nice rooms, very friendly staff members including the security guards. They always welcome their guests with a bottle of red wine, that taste so nice. They also serve nice T-bone and vegetables.

In close proximity to Florida Road, the business and recreational ‘high street’ of Morningside, the Hotel enjoys the best of the quiet private street and the convenience of the accessible entertainment and public activities. We are living in times of conscious ‘down-scaling’ of unnecessary consumerism – Hotel 64 on Gordon recognises this in the lack of over decoration, and reliance rather on the considered design of the necessary to build the overall style and visual experience, whilst not compromising comfort and experience. ... more   less
