We arrived at the hotel on January 17th. The staff was warm, friendly and efficient. The rooms were quaint and comfortable. We had dinner twice at the hotel's restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing! Everyone especially loved the famous butternut soup! 10/10, would recommend. Looking forward to another stay.

Beautiful place with great food and excellent hospitality. The staff were helpful and friendly. The chef was very accommodating - I'm a vegetarian, the chef offered to prepare meals to suit my dietary requirements. I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone in Durban looking for accommodation.

Great place to stay if you want to be close to all the action on Florida Street. Intimate, warm and friendly. Our stay included breakfast. The staff was very helpful and kind. It felt like a home away from home.

We had a two night stay over at St. James on Venice in December, it was delightful. The people were so friendly and helpful, the owner checking in at breakfast in the mornings. The room was very spacious, neat and tidy. The hotel is close to the Madiba Stadium, nice and quiet during the day and in the evening. Recommended... More

It was a pleasure to host the 'Barmy Army' and I hope that you and your friends enjoy the rest of the cricket series in South Africa. More

Although they advertise hi-tea for R85 per person, or R100 per person if you are a group of 15 people or more, they in fact will NOT ACCEPT less than a group of 15 people, what the heck that is rediculars

Visited this hotel for one night. We found the hotel to be very quaint and amazing. The rooms are modernly furnished with all amenities. The breakfast location is amazing and so peaceful. It was a night worth the price. ..

Spent just one night there a week ago; wished I had stayed longer. Charming hotel, lovely old building, helpful staff and superb fish meal (Dorado). I would happily go back there again; its a great place!

A lovely boutique hotel. Beautifully decorated and excellent service throughout our stay. After a very long flight we asked if we could eat in the hotel. Menus were brought to our room and the upstairs sitting room ( also immaculately decorated) was set up for a very personalised dinner for the 2 of us. The staff were friendly, helpful, informative... Dear Sue and Dave, it was such a pleasure to show the REAL Durban to you. It certainly seems like your entire KZN trip was too short and my staff and I will be delighted to help you plan your next trip to again include some hidden gems for you to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming you back. Meleney More

If I had actually stayed here I may have felt differently! I was in Durban for Tourism Indaba and had booked for 4 nights but was told, on arrival, that unfortunately they were fully booked for 3 of the nights and that they could only accommodate me for 1 night. They then offered me a room right next to reception... More

Dear Mr. Newton, Thank you for bringing the matter to my attention. I've reviewed correspondence and noted that we replied both to yourself and the booking agent but it is clear that the message that we had been fully booked for at the time of your enquiry did not get through to you timeously. We are sorry that we could... More
