I booked two separate stays of one night each within a space of ten days. Both bookings got lost and were nowhere to be found on system despite me presenting confirmation eMail saying "your booking with The Concierge Hotel is confirmed and complete." Final verdict after half an hour of looking through the system was "Well, then I don't know...".... More

My husband and I stayed at The Concierge for a ‘staycation’ to celebrate our anniversary. It was the perfect city break without even leaving Durban! The fun & quirky details offered a unique experience with all the usual hotel style comforts. The huge bed was sheer bliss to sleep in plus the extra large pillows were incredibly comfortable (wish I... More

We've stayed here before about 2 years and it's still great! Stylish rooms, big comfortable beds and lovely little details everywhere. Linger over some zucchini pancakes at the freedom cafe before exploring the area. Very well located for travelling around Durban.

A great little hideaway with creative touches at every turn. Yummy snacks in the room and even better treats at Freedom Cafe just outside your room. Friendly staff make you feel right at home...ask for Prim or Robyn...Mike makes a great cocktail to wind the evening in. On the doorstep of Florida Road if you're looking for a fun night... More

The concierge is one of those initially hard to find, but actually close to everything places. It's quirky, not the place for someone looking for the classic hotel experience, but behind the cool for school exterior is a hostelry that offers a warm welcome with the kind of meticulous attention to detail that guarantees a brilliant stay. The showers are... More

This smaller property is located in a Durbn neighborhood, safe and secure. Miko, the manager, met us and was welcoming and flexible. The room we had been given lacked a verandah and we were accommodated immediately. He was so pleasant that we will be back. Highly recommend this property though for some it will be too small.

in short everything about the rooms is amazing and I would highly recommend them! HOWEVER, service is seriously lacking. On Saturday morning I was woken up by the concierge himself and the cleaning lady talking at the absolute top of their voices for 30min right outside our room. Agin, the restaurant is amazing but service is shocking. I had to... More

Off-the-beaten tourist track just off Windemere and Florida. A hidden gem for visitors in search of originality and tasteful sustainable city renewal. African modern chic room with comfortable kingsize bed, walk-in shower, double basin, and shared porch. Designed and owned by chef Neil Roake. A great stay topped off with homecured salmon on eggs benedict and macchiato for breakfast. Divine!

Take off The Blinkers - This was an Awful "Hotel" more like a guest lodge. We had to be moved to 3 different rooms because of issues, the last one still had issues but was exhausted. The rooms (2 of them) smelt mildew and unclean, the one room the electricity kept tripping let alone the handles of ALL the rooms... More

Booked this online for a few nights and when we first drove i to the alleyway access we weren't quite sure what we were going to find. We were happy to find that you pull into a secured parking area. We went into the 'office' which is basically a desk area inside a small cafe that is made from a... More
