We took three rooms at the African Peninsula in January. The views were spectacular, we had mongoose trotting through the gardens one morning. The rooms are well equipped with AC, tea and coffee, bath and separate shower. We ate in the restaurant each night and apart from a very limited menu on the sunday night, the food was excellent and... More

on a short business trip to Durban I had the pleasure to stay at African Peninsula Guest House. The view from my room was amazing, the staff extremely friend and i can only recommend to everyone to stay there. My only regret is that was only able to stay a day due to late arrival (thanks South Africa Airway) .... More

This place is a true gem - I stayed for only one night but the hospitality warmth and quality of sleep I had in just one night made me feel like I'd had a week holiday. I stayed in room 4 - which has a big terrace facing the sea, a roll top bath, powerful shower, sofa and a large... More

Situated in an upmarket residential area with fabulous views over the Indian Ocean, this guest house really has it all. One of the biggest advantages being the onsite restaurant offering great meals for lunch and dinner at exceptionally good prices. My colleague and I had rooms 3 and 4, both of which were well furnished and spacious. Room 3 had... More

From the minute we booked to the moment we (sadly) had to leave, the helpfulness, hospitality, charm and courtesy remained the key to our wonderful stay at the African Peninsula. The room (No 3) has a remarkable view of the beautiful Indian Ocean where every morning we awoke to the lapping of the waves on the shore directly beneath us;... More

On arrival, we were checked in by Harry who makes you feel at home right away. The room we stayed in (no. 6) was spacious, with 2 separate bedrooms, a kitchenette, bathroom with a separate bath and shower and the most stunning view from a decking balcony / seating area which overlooks the Indian Ocean. Each morning you can hear... More

Beautiful settings, some rooms need a refresher, but otherwise a great place, and a great restaurant on-site with talented young chef's preparing tasteful food. As a long term user (most weekdays of 2010) I got to stay in most rooms, and all of them are charming, and of different sizes and decor. Overall a pleasant stay away from home.

My husband and I unfortunately only got to stay here for 1 night before catching a plane out of the Durban area. The rooms all face the Indian Ocean, which is right down in front of you which is just gorgeous and it's tranquil and peaceful .The room was very nice, modern and quite large, with all the mod-cons, such as... We found the Peninsula Guest House to be home away from home. The plus being that it is ocean facing with wonderful views and in a very tranquil setting. Even though we had rain during most of our stay, a wonderful time was had by all and we plan on returning!!! Soon!
