This is a really clean and comfortable hostel. I stayed in a private room and all are African themed and furnished nicely. The bathrooms were clean and water hot. Thanks to Happy Hippo for an awesome time in Durban over Indaba! I had an absolute blast staying at your hostel and all your staff were friendly too! Loved the wallpaper in the Indaba room too! The rooftop bar is one of a kind with an awesome place to have a drink and play a game of pool!

We spent two nights in Durban at Happy Hippo. We had a double room with private bathroom and it was a nice, clean room. We travelled up the coast from Capetown to Durban over two months and this was by far the least friendly place we stayed.
