We stayed 3 nights and absolutely felt like stars staying here at thula thula. They treated us to the best food, snacks and drinks better than anywhere else in South Africa. The rooms were so comfortable. Nd our Rangers kaiya and passion were the best; so dedicated to this land and to the conservation of African wildlife. They are full... More

We visted here after reading about Lawrence in The Elephant Whisperer. I just had to see these elephants. And we weren't disappointed. We saw the elephants on both game drives as well as the giraffe, zebre, wildebeast. The two rhinos - Thabo & Ntombi were beautiful to watch The conservation and work this park is doing with the surrounding villages... More

Thula Thula was a great recommendation by Lyon Tours & Safaris out of a dozen other venues within a three hour drive from Durban. My sisters and I spent a couple of nights at Thula Thula and really enjoyed our stay. We are retired and try to meet somewhere every year for a few days, away from husbands and obligations.... More

From the moment we arrived we were blown away. Our Guides Sia and Shambo made every moment on the game drives exciting and fascinating. Their stories about the game was so different to what we were used to, describing differences nuances in their personalities. The accommodation in the Suite Imperial was beautifully decorated, and spacious. We had a wonderful surprise... More

...what we felt at Thula Thula last week. But since words are what these reviews are all about, I will do my best to describe our experience. We arrived to Kwa-Zulu Natal (Durban Airport) from Cape Town and were picked up by Stuart the owner of Fever Tree Tours (http://fevertreetours.co.za/). It took about two hours to get to Thula Thula... More

I can see many people have reviewed this lodge and just wanted to quickly do the same. Some things we really enjoyed about our stay: it really felt like a small, family run operation where everyone really cares about each other and you as the guest, the food was great, our tented site was a unique experience, the game drives... My husband and I spent our anniversary last year, April, by treating ourselves to Thula Thula, a dream come true! We spent10 days in a lovely guest cottage where the orphaned rhinos, Thabo and Ntombi would graze on the front lawn and greet us each morning with their play time antics. What an amazing way to wake up each morning!... More

After reading The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence Anthony, I knew we had to visit Thula Thula. I was enchanted by the story of his journey to save this rogue herd of elephants and not only gain their trust but develop a personal relationship with these beautiful, wild creatures. A trip to Africa was always on our bucket list but now... More

We did two nights in the Tented Camp and then two in the Main Lodge. You get an extra Game Drive in the Lodge but you can also pay for extra in the Tented. The food in both is excellent but in the Lodge it is French Cuisine. Tented is more like Africa but there appeared to be more Wild... More

Best experience for beeing in contact with nature. Rhinos and elephants around, friendly staff and excelent food. If you like animals, is the place to go in South Africa. My husband and I had a wonderful week in Thula Thula Reserve.
