We needs a clean bed for the night & that's exactly what we got with a little bit more thrown in. Didn't expect this to be a theme hotel when I booked it an hour before turning up. I arrived s little apprehensively into the neon lights & vivid paintings. However I was put at ease straight away by the... More

One of our many excellent and unique lodgings on our trip. The place, as well as the owners, are full of character. Wonderful stories and history shared while checking in. Great room with vintage bathrooms. only down side was very limited hot water. If you want cookie cutter stay at a Ramada, if you want uniquely cool stay here!

The owners have done a great job updating this motel. The rooms are 1950's, so don't expect a modern hotel experience. The murals and neon are fun. But the front office could do with a de-clutter. The manager seems to give the history of Kingman whether you want it or not. Some folks just want to just veg out after... More

Please ignore any of those less than perfect reviews- I just took a cross country road trip, and our stay at this hotel was our favorite part of Route 66, without question! If you are looking for a classic hotel to stay in, skip the Wigwam and come straight here! I think some of these reviewers expected to be staying... More

I had always stayed at another motel in Kingman but I decided to give the El Trovatore a try. Sam and Monica Frisher have done wonders with the place since reopening it a few years ago. It still has a ways to go but it is certainly a work in progress. The rooms are not big but they are comfortable.... More

It all started with the overly polite managers wouldnt let me get to my room with out an entire speech about the history of the city of Kingman. After I politely hinted about my early morning flight. He tossed me my room key and let me go. The room was nice except for the inch long cockroach in the shower.... More

I stayed here twice in February 2015, in the Jame Dean and Marilyn Monroe rooms. Each time I was greeted warmly by the owners and made to feel very welcome. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed - I travel with multiple devices and there were plenty of power boards to plug them into! Ok, so the rooms are... More

We were really interested in staying here - and the hotel maybe very nice - but - I called not once but twice (as per the Ph. # on Hotel website). 1st time I got the front desk, he said he was busy with customers, and could he call back in 10 min. No call back! 2 hrs. later I... More

Stayed here for one night, mid-week in February while on a motorcycle trip from LA to the Grand Canyon. My and a riding buddy shared a room with 2-double beds. The property is SUPER-old, and decorated with some kitschy murals depicting Route 66. While the buildings and fixtures look mostly original (1950's), the owners do a great job of keeping... More

we would stay here again in an instant, Sam and Monica are so passionate about the motel and Kingman, and can relate many fascinating stories about both. They have taken on a huge project and are working very hard to maintain the nostalgia of Route 66 and all that..........don't expect a modern room, but embrace the old with the new... More
