Our stay at the El Trovatore was a highlight of our road trip to Texas. My seven year old was ecstatic at the prospect of being able to stay in his first ever motel. He questioned why we have stayed in hotels all these years when there are places with the amenity of a door directly to the outside world... More

El Trovatore is a *motel*, as in Motor Hotel, the kind of place we used to stay in back before the giant hotel chains took over America's travel habits. It's definitely old school, kept up but not refurbished, so the rooms (especially the bathroom) are on the small side, just as they were when this hotel was built 70 years... More

We made a quick stop in Kingman while on a cross-country road-trip with my wife and mother-in-law. I had booked the room in advance. This was a very cool old Route 66 motel. Our 2 queen bed room was huge and the bathroom was outdated as you would expect. I would definitely stay there again.

We booked the motel for the last night of our 10 day road trip from Los Angeles to the North Rim and then through Arizona, and of course along the historic strip of Route 66 headed west. Kingman seemed like a great place to stay before getting back on the large interstate. We were looking for a place with kitsch,... More

We're not route 66 enthusiasts, this was just a stop over between death valley and Sedona for us, so much of the novelty of this place passed us by. The kids reaction as we pulled up to the motel was initially one of horror, but the place grew on us all. Everyone gets a unprompted guide to the area from... More

I saw the reviews in TripAdvisor, and thought this would be a good place to start a road trip. We are roughly paralleling Route 66 from Barstow, CA to St. Louis, MO. The descriptions sounded very interesting. And they were pet friendly, whic is important because we are traveling with our two small dogs. We arrived the afternoon of August... More

We decided to stay in Kingman for 2 nights to experience a bit of Route 66 on our way from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon South Rim. ...............What a cool Motel........... The owners are great, they will sit you down when you check in and tell you about all the things to do in the area and will help... More

Sam and Monica are the most dedicated and hospitable hosts you can imagine!! After driving 500+ miles, I arrived on a balmy night in Kingman and was greeted with all the charm and character this revived motor lodge has to offer. The exterior walls of the motel are adorned with a map of Route 66 and I especially liked the... More

Stayed here on a recent road trip. Room was very clean and updated. The husband and wife owner were very friendly and helpful--even gave us some detergent to do laundry. They love movies and each room has a different movie star theme. I love the way this place looks. Awesome mural of Route 66 across all of the outside walls.... More
