I stayed one night here as part of a Route 66 drive, and I felt like I'd somehow been transported back to a time before tasteful decor, comfortable beds and modern electronics. Don't get me wrong, this place isn't the greatest motel, but it has bags of character, from the gaudy neon signs to the excessive wood paneling. The bed... More

We were really, really happy with the Hill Top Motel! We just returned from our fantastic Arizona road trip. We loved the Motel so much that we stayed there TWICE (on our first & last night on the road.) We are a family of 4. My sons LOVED the pool & the owners have a very sweet & gentle dog... More

Arrived at about 10:30AM. We had hoped to check in a bit early. We had been told when we made the reservation that might be a possibility. That was wrong. When we inquired at the office the owner seemed peeved that we were even asking about check in at such an early hour. He said the room would not be... More

If you are a "Roadie", this place is wonderful. It is a vintage Route 66 Motel with charm for the Route 66 traveler. No, it is not new but fits like an old comfortable sweater on the first chilly day. Air conditioner works great and each room includes a small fridge and microwave. The owners treat you like you want... More

The room was $49 and a bucket of ice was 25 cents. It was clean (a little run down), and comfortable. It had a small fridge and a microwave. It was what we expected for the price, so I rate it as very good. If you want a "perfect" hotel, you need to spend more and go elsewhere. This was... More

Stayed here in August 2014 for the International Route 66 Festival. Dennis, Holly, and the rest of the staff were very accommodating. Room was exactly as expected - spacious, clean, functional, not brand-new furniture but entirely serviceable. Air conditioner provided ample cooling air and white noise. No issue with train, street traffic, or other noise. Was very difficult to get... More

This motel was written up in the newspaper as a place to stay for a Route 66 experience. The price is right but it goes down from there. Anthony from Hotel Impossible would have a field day! First the office was a mess and very disorganized, not a good presentation except for the wonderful greeting by "Cleopatra", the dog. The... More

A well-preserved vintage motel that fit the bill for a place to stay during the 2014 Route 66 International Festival! The location on Route 66 made the location ideal and truly set the tone for a great festival. The neon sign out front makes it easy to find. (Being named the "Hill Top Motel" and being at the top of... More

After I posted a rather decent review on booking.com, I didn´t yet know, that the owner - Dennis - charged my card for an allegedly stolen ice bucket 2 days after we left. I guess that is just a way how they try to support they dying business, in which they didn´t invest a dime since the 1970´s. After spending... More

I am typing this review from the Hill Top Motel as I am getting ready to head out along old Route 66. Yes, it's dated. It's supposed to be! Just as a classic 1957 Chevrolet is dated, this place is from that era and it has been preserved and maintained well. If it was remodeled to look like new, it... More
