The hotel grounds were nice, but the animal side of things seemed to me like a run-down backwoods zoo. The rooms were nice, but the senior staff left a little to be desired. My room was inexplicably cancelled halfway through my stay, and I was left scrambling to find a new place to stay after being told over lunch that... More

I was there on a workshop/ conference. We were very busy and dead tired at the end of the day. I was booked into a room that was very far from the main buildings and it was a experience having to take the walk back to your room in the dark with the lion camps right there. The first night... More

Basically a zoo, and not really a "wildlife sanctuary", but different for Pretoria. If you want to see animals in the wild, this is not the place... If you want to see Lions sleeping in a cage and an Indian Tiger in a cage, this may be the place for you. Rooms are very old (some may say "rustic"), but... More

Stayed again from 4 to 6 Aug 2014 in this nice hotel. Very spacious room, well equipped. People everywhere very friendly and assistive. Breakfast with broad range of cold and warm dishes, freshly prepared eggs and omeletts. Restaurant offering quality food, can sit outside. Lobby and bar nice places for recoering from working days, will come back again.

We did not sleep over since we stay in Pretoria but we often attend functions and conferences or workshops here and it is a popular venue for that kind of events, if you go by the boards indicating where each group must go. There are lions and other wild animals and the sound of the lion roaring makes you forget... More

I booked 2 weeks before a birthday celebration. On the day we were told there was no such reservation. We were seated even though they couldn't find the reservation because I remembered the name of the person who took my reservation information. We chose the buffet option as we had kids in our group. The quality, quantity and selection was... More

We recently stayed in the Farm Inn after a visit to Jo'burg. I visited with my wife and daughter and we stayed in the family room. The room was spacious but the decor was old. I also found it a struggle to get some available plugs for charging camera and phones. During our visit in July the room was a... More

I have had the pleasure of presenting at the Farm Inn on a number of occasions, Service is excellent, nothing is too much trouble, Friendly staff that are punctual and efficient. Food is great and they have a cozy little pub for a quick on one your way out.

I went to Farm Inn for a day outing with children. We went to the restaurant and we had a good waiter and the food was okay The staff at the farmyard, working in a child friendly environment, were very unwelcoming after shouting at the children. There were ground staff that were also disrespectful towards the older citizens. The overall... More

Dear Ingrid, I'm terribly sorry to hear that your day went so badly at the hotel. We would really like to deal with this unacceptable behavior from our staff, as we pride ourselves in being a family friendly hotel. Would it perhaps be possible to give me a call as I would just like clarify the issue with the grounds.... More

I recently spent three nights attending a convention at The Farm Inn. The staff were very welcomming and helpfull, the food rather akin to a boarding school, the game farm interesting but the least impressive was the accommodation. My innitial experience of the room was that it was large but dark. Then on attempting to open the patio door, the... More

Dear Tess, Thank you for the feedback, we are continually upgrading sets of rooms. Which is an ongoing process as we are a 30 year old family owned hotel. If possible could you perhaps remember the room number so that we can attend to the problems. Once again thank you for your feedback. Regards, Helena More
