Only 10 suites, each individually decorated with original art and antiques, this is like entering a private home, albeit with top class service and tranquil surroundings. The collection of pre Republic rolls Royce vehicles and the Tienie Pritchard sculpture museum are bonus ingredients for your stay. The continental breakfast is atypical and enough for almost any appetite. The only negative... More

. We have been telling everybody about our wonderful stay at the Orient and the amazing culinary experience at the Restaurant Mosaic. Every dish presented was a painting of colours and flavours tantalising our taste buds, not to mention the grand wines we enjoyed. We agreed that it was a life changing experience. We LOVED everything about our stay at... More

We returned to The Orient after our first visit almost a year ago with a good measure of apprehension, wondering if we would be as impressed as we were then. Alas, we were again overwhelmed by the experience and my earlier comparison to the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur still holds. The entrance to The Orient’s interior is through magnificent double-storey... WOW! What a privilege to have stayed and dined at this amazing Boutique Hotel. Physically; so close to Pretoria, but the moment you enter the front gate one is transported to some far away land as the experience comes some beautiful fantasy.....possibly in the Middle East or Morocco and in some parts, the middle of Old Paris! Once a private... More

Words cannot describe how fantastic it is to spend time at The Orient. Marie and her team are amazing. You feel welcomed, treated and pampered from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. It is such a beautiful place and the effort that has gone into every single aspect of your stay is truly something spectacular. We feel... More

I had the privilege to be spoilt today at this amazing restaurant. Germain made this an extra special occasion by showing us the Tiffany Room. For any art connoisseur and food lover this is a place you would love. I am still in awe of this amazing place and will most definitely visit regularly. Thank you to the Mosaic team!

We spoiled ourselves with a stay at The Orient Private Hotel, situated on the Francolin Conservancy, just south west from Pretoria. We were booked into the Samarkand suite, about 55m2 in size, which certainly met all the expectations of what a royal suite should have on offer. Before the scrumptious dinner, prepared by multiple award winning chef, Chantel Dartnall, we... More

Magnificent. Unbelievably ROYAL. The Orient is an exquisite place where nothing is spared to make you, the guest, feel like- and experience royalty. The hotel in its entirety is just superb. The atmosphere maintained there is of distinction and class, from entering the main gate , reception and service right through to and with reluctantly departing. The rooms are unique,... More

Entering the property really does feel like one has been magicked into an ancient land and that you have been taken in for refuge by a kindly Sheikh or Raja! The imposing terracotta walls, massive wooden gates and beautifully manicured gardens set the perfect tone for the rest of one's experience at the Orient. The experience is luxurious, intimate, comfortable,... More

Dear MeerkatV Thank you for taking the time to write this sincere review. We are really happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Restaurant Mosaic and The Orient, but would however like to apologise for the incident regarding the wine servive. Our sommelier wasn't quite himself, as he, was preparing for his Cape Wine Masters exam. It was... More
