As we arrived our booking was missing. Stayed in the cottage for one night - really cold during wintertime. Garden was not prepared, wood was lying around. Nobody told us or had shown us the pool at the other house. Stuff was helpful to find another accomodation.

In fact someone else booked a night for me here. I was planning to stay two nights but left after one. As others have said, the place is dirty. The bathroom in particular was dirty, the toilet was the worst part. I can accept hostels where the furnishings are old and worn, but there is no excuse for lack of... More

I remained here for one night before travelling to Brits. I was in a room with 3 other people and I personally found the bed rather comfortable. The yard is lovely and in my opinion for a hostel the food was amazing. I can't really comment on price as I was working with a project and this was included so... More

We stayed in a double room back in February 14. We tried call 3 times and also emailed to make a reservation. Never got a reply. When we arrived into Pretoria called them as they advertise free transfers and to try and make a reservation again. They picked us up from the train station and then the next day charged... More

I'm kidding you, right? No, it's true. The embassies and high commissions are sprinkled throughout Clydesdale and surrounding suburbs so you can imagine the leafy and tranquil setting. I must come back some time when the jacarandas are in bloom; the streets must look like shimmering purple tunnels although where the hostel is, stately maples line the street. The house... More

An OK place to stay in Pretoria but a 45 minute walk to Church Square. The only things really nearby are a pub and the rugby stadium. I found it could do with a bit of decorating. There was a continental breakfast included in the price and served 6-9am. Transfers to and from the Gautrain are free if the car... More

The Pretoria Backpacker is a really good place to stay! It's central located and you can walk everywhere, so you don't have to take a taxi. The owner and the staff are very friendly and help you with good tips (they also have got an own travel centre inside the hostel), give you a map, and show you where are... More

I'm not really sure where to start in describing quite how bad our experience of this place was. We left our bags in the hostel's "secure room," which were then systematically gone through and robbed. Whilst this was terrible in itself, the worst bit was how the staff dealt with it. They began by delaying calling the police - implying... More

I've stayed here 4-5 times in the last two years, and although I have never thought it a good hostel, I never thought it was particularly bad. The rooms are generally comfortable, but the bathrooms are filthy and do not have handtowels or anyway to dry you hands, almost never have soap, and I have seen cockroaches more than once... More
