Hi Upon arrival there were no lights working in the reception area. Nothing was ready to be signed. We were escorted to our room where the underfloor heating was on MAX, the bed headboard weak - couldn't sit upright in bed, the toilet runs for minutes after a flush, no keys to access the outside shower facility, no light on... We overnighted at Ingwenya in the Guest house, i booked out 5 suites for 5 couples! They were shabby chique, which was very nostalgic and they were clean and well appointed with each having its own theme. The grounds are amazing with the thought that has gone into the different options. The staff were very attentive and the buffet breakfast in... More

My poor husband! He tried so hard to make our first wedding anniversary a special and memorable one. It indeed will be memorable but for all the WRONG reasons! I cannot believe that a place like Ingwenya is allowed to be open. From the moment we drove in we knew it was not going to be a pleasant experience. The... More

I am not one to generally rate places this low...but it really was that bad. The experience started when my friend booked 7 of us in to their "African spa" for pedicures as a treat for her wedding which was the next day. We arrived to a locked up and deserted spa, which looked rather derelict with all the grounds... More

On their website for the spa they offer all kinds of traditional african treatments as well as packages of all types. Sound really good, however they do not deliver. We arrived in early October 2011 and there was an extremely large group checking in. Some sort of conference etc. We waited and asked how we could get to the spa... More

We only wanted the spa experience and decided to do the overnight. Rooms are dirty with stains on the floor and just old. Service is very poor. We arrived there in the evening and the security guy whom we found did not even know where the room keys were to check us in. We had to wait while he ran... More

We arrived at the spa at 8:30 am, breakfast was not ready the cleaners were still making the fire. There was smoke everywhere in the dining area. Breakfast was decent , it was still being prepared when we arrived. The spa is awful, change rooms are cold and look like they are makeshift. The toilet in the change room didnt... More

Went to overnight spa...SO many thing wrong from the beginning, but especially the spa where service was horrible, no one listened, customers were rushed through services, food was awful. Do not recommend at all.

I recently had a conference and gala dinner at Ingwenya Country Escape and it was fantastic. The staff go out of their way to assist you even when some of the requests could be seen as demanding. The hotel is comfortable, the surroundings are awsome, the food simplistic but tasty. The event was a success and that partly due to... More

Great location, facilities OK, but let down by very poor or total lack of effective management. Standards very poor, food abysmal. Attempting to get the management team to deliver, resulted in us being told if you don't like it go somewhere else is not only unacceptable but unprofessional and a bit much once the money has been taken. The internet... More
