It's not often we get away on our anniversary. However, this year was different. I decided to take a day's leave and we would sleep over on our anniversary - given that my wife doesn't go to the office on Fridays. From the moment we arrived we were enchanted with the setting, the rooms, the service, the six course dinner,... More

Whilst the food was some of the best we have had on our numerous visits to Roots, the service had to be the absoloute worst we have ever expereinced. the waiter never introduced himself as our waiter. meals were not explained as they usually were. Drinks orders were forgotten and never arrived, parts of the meal were forgotten and never... More

This was my second stay at the hotel, the last time being in Oct 2010. Having read a few reviews, I was a little concerned that the hotels standards / maintenance were slipping. In the event, I need not have worried. The rooms are all similar, high ceilinged and extremely spacious. Some quirky design (ceiling lamps as dim-able stalactites!) a... More

Remove flies before people enter the room , a little bit irritating Put information on dangerous snakes and other animals in room. Another shortage was that there was no ice in the room on arrival The reception was great and friendly. The scenery is something to come back for , well orginized with massage and everything

Was very happy and once again Roots went out of their way to make the occasion special. One thing to note however that when we were waiting to be seated, the waiter asked us for our drinks order, I requested a wine menu and then he forgot about us. I had to call him eventually to place our order and... More

My husband and I decided to try a new restaurant this year for our anniversary as we heard great reviews from others. Upon booking we were asked if it was a special occasion, to which i had said yes. The booking agent then said they would prepare a special dessert plate and present it to us in celebration after lunch.... More

Dear jemimaJohannesburg. It goes without saying that it is hugely disappointing to read that we afforded you a terrible dining experience ,but most of all that you felt so unwelcome. Your letter is currently enjoying our full attention as your review is not acceptable to us as a team,it is not the experience that we strive to offer our guest.... More

We stayed for 2 nights at Forum Homini, it was spectacular! Accommodation The roof of the rooms are covered with grass, giving it a cave like feel. The whole resort seems to blend in with its surroundings. The standard rooms were truly luxurious, each having a big bath, a double outdoor shower, a television, and a fireplace. Other amenities included... More

We booked ourselves into the hotel as an added spoil - our main destination was Roots Restaurant. We'd had lunch there previously and wanted the dinner experience without needing to drive home afterwards. We had stayed at Forum Homini when it had first opened, around '06 or so. I fear that the rooms have not been renovated since and everything... More

Dear Monika I Reading your review and dissecting your fair criticism ,one cannot help but be reminded how vastly different human beings are, and how different our interpretations are of similar experiences. I say this because your raise valid and insightful points for us to rectify and consider. We do most definitely strive for both roots and our accommodation to... More
