This five star property is one of three hotels at the Emperor's Palace complex. They also have what they consider to be a three star and four star hotel. There is a free shuttle from the airport every 20 minutes and hopefully they will now drop the guests at the five star hotel first instead of the other way around.... more

We stayed here one night after landing at Johannesburg Airport. The hotel is close to the airport and is generally adequate. We had some problems with check-in and check-out. I had a massage in the spa, which was excellent. The Internet did not work properly during our visit. more

My sister and her husband had their wedding at Emperor's and as part of the package, they were given their wedding night at the D'Oreale. On the surface the D'oreale grande looks like a fantastic place to stay. On the contrary, the hotel is very poorly managed and can not cater to travellers that expect luxury and good service. Ok, first of all, let's talk about smoking ban in South Africa. I thought it's utter straight in prohibiting people smoking in public area, no staff in this hotel cares. There were loads of asians walking around with cigarette lid (even in the breakfast room, walking up to the service counter getting food whilst smoking with ashes hanging). Don't tell... more
