I stayed here at the beginning of my South Africa trip and it wasn't the greatest start. After flying almost 24 hours I had to wait a couple of hours for my transfer to pick me up (even though the hostel told me he was already waiting). On getting to the hostel the staff seemed bored and sometimes rude. I... More

I stayed here for four nights before beginning my Acacia tour of Africa, from Johannesburg through to Nairobi. The tour only departed from Johannesburg, it didn't visit the city itself, so if you wanted to explore Johannesburg, you had to book extra days there yourself. The Ritz was an easy choice for me, as it was where our tour departed... More

I stayed in this backpackers twice. The backpackers is not outstanding in terms of design and style, but it has almost everything you need. The dorms are very clean and extremely spacious (I've been travelling since 7 months now and I have never had so much space as here). I stayed also in a private room and also this one... More

Its a backpacker place.... .. it serves its purpose and puts a roof over your head and I couldn't complain about our stay at all. The rooms are simple and you will need your insect repellent but it does the job, it has a pretty secure area with the two deadlock gates to get through before you can even enter... More

We stayed in a double room for the last four nights of our trip, after a month of camping in Africa. After our trip, the Ritz was a great place to relax. You get what you pay for, and the location is great. The area is pretty safe, and you can walk around with ease. The beds were really comfortable,... More

the place is basic but that is what you pay for - the rooms were clean and the staff were brilliant friendly and very helpful - this is not a 5 star hotel, if what you want is that then pay more and go somewhere else if what you want is a bed and a shower and a good laugh... More

And that is the location! Nice leafy suburb and walking distance to the best Bakery ever Fournos Bakery! Also walking distance to Roseland and African Market ( 40 minutes). If you are staying at the Ritz, it means you should not bother with a walk to Hyde Park Mall which is definitely an Elite Shopping Centre with extravagant price tags!... More

We researched this place prior to leaving Australia and wisely chose to stay elsewhere for two nights. We had a pre departure briefing for our Acacia trip and had to be here. We had rooms down the back and although they were relatively clean they were extremely cold, small and only had two showers and one toilet for about five... More
