We bought a deal from daddy's deals for Aloe Ridge and since hubby always wanted to go I have book two nights. Upon arrival we where greeted by Two Rhino's, Zeabra's and baboons at the gate entrance to the hotel. If timeing is right you will always find then at the gate around sun set. At reception we where greeted... More

This is the worst "Hotel" i have ever seen - Firstly there is a 4km dirt road to get there - everything is old and smelly - the lift does not work - there is water leaks everywhere - there is a huge tree growing INSIDE the hotel, which is actually 3 floors high and you have to go under... More

A place with such great potential yet so mismanaged. Our safari vehicle's canopy was rusted and pretty much falling off. This particular one (Reg Puma1 GP) was VERY obviously converted to a safari vehicle in their back yard. The front doors were also skew, you could hear the engine didn't work properly and was dirty. Another vehicle had its exhaust... More

We went for a family lunch yesterday. After travelling a long and bad sand road we arrived at the hotel. We walked to Hedwig restaurant and noticed torn curtains in rooms. When we arrived at the restaurant the waitress showed our table and said: Let me first tell you that we have co cold drinks, no wine, no beer and... More

The road up to Aloe ridge is a long, bad sandy road with many sharp rocks and stones. Everything looked dilapidated. As we walked onto the hotel, it felt as though we were walking into an old government building. We arrived for check in at 3pm, as stipulated by them and requested to go on the pontoon ride. We were... More

The reviews we read here before going on the trip helped us in a way,coz like Pearlha we were freaked out and had very low expectations. We were pleasantly surprised Aloe Ridge was nothing like what we were expecting because of the reviews we read. We sooo enjoyed the pontoon ride and everything else was very ok, would definitely visit... More

The hotel itself is trapped in a 1980's time warp, no money has been put into maintenance or a very long time! The outside pool was half full, the stair case banister was rotting and you have to duck under branches from the tree (this is inside the hotel). The hotel smells of damp and cat odor. It took over... More
