My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting for a wedding, and it took my breath away. Gorgeous property, with gorgeous buildings and rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful! They upgraded us to the main suite both times were were there (without us asking), and allowed us to leave our larger bags while we went off to a game... More

What makes this B&B “Room with a view” special is its lack of resemblance to any other guest accommodation in the world. An usual and fantastic architectural configuration of buildings, stairs, rooms, balconies and garden plants; inspired by Tuscan palaces but yet very different. Surprising, overall and in detail. Not truly luxurious, but exciting and with great views indeed. Very... More

Staying at Room With a View some years ago is among the best Guest House (boutique hotel) i've stayed at, highly recommendable. This is located in the middle of Melville a very cosy area. The breakfast is great and need to say so, but the view is great.

This a B n B with an identity. A great space in the middle of Melville, a once working class, now somewhat trendy suburb of JHB. The B n B has a website that gives some insight into the place and actually highlights the room we happened to stay in for a few days in Nov 2012. I recommend this... More

I was among a group staying here. This place is a miniature castle perched on a hill. The rooms range in size, but are all lovely. My room was large and had a balcony with a great view of the area. The staff are extremely friendly and ready to help. The breakfast is terrific. The neighborhood, Melville, is pleasant. There... More

I had read a very complimentary snippet in a travel magazine about this guesthouse, and so I booked a room here, for three nights. I am a regular visitor to Melville. As another member stated, it is helpful to have a GPS with you, and with that, it easy find it; otherwise, good luck! Made by bookings by email, and... More

This was my first time in Johannesburg, and I was concerned about safety. This hotel, as other reviews state, is like a small castle with superb views over the city. I reserved a luxury suit but was upgraded - it looked very slow season in the beggining of October. Our room was in the upper part, just by a beautiful... More

This accommodation is very different to anywhere we have stayed before. Each room is quirky and with such high ceilings you get a real sense of space. Views are fantastic. Brenda looked after us so well.Location was great for us and we could get cabs cheaply to places we needed to go.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed at, but of course such things are subjective. It was elegant, interesting, cozy, homey and relaxing - the hotel was built in bits, making it appear haphazard but every corner & staircase made me want to explore! I loved spending time by the pool, even though it was winter, because... More
