What a pleasant surprise - I booked into the hotel due to it's proximity to our new office building, not expecting much but left after 3 days with a different view on the area and the hotel. It is located in a beautiful old Jhb colonial home and has a strong colonial theme in a hotel frequented by mainly new... More

Very friendly staff, efficient, and very helpful. Location of hotel is great too. Rooms immaculate and clean, however houskeeping was a little early on some days, but all in all a comfortable stay. Breakfast fit for kings, with a selection of various things to have, you definitely werent short of choices. Great pool, and gym facilites too. Very happy traveller!!

Hotel building id in colonial style with wonderful wood paved lobby and stairs (look a bit similar with negresco in nice). Advantages - big secured territory with park and pool, quite, beautiful building, wonderful and cheap food in restaurant (steak is about 11 usd, strawberry dessert is 6 usd), fast wifi (but they change a password every 2 days). Disadvantages... More

This large hotel is in a historical house set in nice grounds, with superb old African trees. The gym and swimming pool are nice and the room I was in was also good. It has all the amenities that a 4-star hotel should have, and the breakfasts have lots of variety and are good. The only drawback as far as... More

This hidden gem is a must stay over. It has that 'at home' feeling where you can roam freely in the garden, sit in the lounge, use the gym, swim, look at the stylish old charm finishes, etc. In most hotels you feel 'boxed in' and hardly go outside, expecially in Johannesburg. But this is a real gem in and... More

My mom, sister, and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. It is a historical site with old world charm. We stayed in rooms that had not yet been renovated. Everything was old and needed to be replaced. The first morning we went to take a shower, there was no hot water. Housekeeping was substandard and slow to respond... More

Price was good, staff were lovely and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. I stayed in the old part of the hotel and it had a sort of faded neo-colonial charm that I liked. It is good location for work being close to all of the satellites business suburbs like Santown but also close enough to the old down... More
