I often travel to Johannesburg on business and this has become my favourite venue for accommodation in the city. The staff are highly professional, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is just right and I love the architecture and general design of the hotel. It is also perfectly situated, in my opinion, between the business district of Sandton and the awesome... A neat, modern, small and funky property - with only 6 bedrooms. Very good if somewhat simple breakfast, lovely good quality sheets on the beds. I missed a desk in the room to work on. Great position and many good restaurants nearby. My only criticism is that the ironing of my laundry was the worst I have ever experienced. However,... More

Spent four nights in connection with a busy schedule of back to back meetings in Joburg. A great base to have meetings, to work and to Uber into Joburg. Good, tasty food, flexible meal hours, spacious rooms 3 & 4, quiet neighbourhood, and helpful staff - especially Violet who personifies good service. Only minor points of improvement: wifi too unstable... More

I was booked into the Hamilton room no.1 by my office travel agent. My room was tiny hot and stuffy with minute windows over looking noisy Hamilton rd. I shut the windows to try and reduce traffic noise only to discover there was no aircon and I couldn't open them again and the security/door man was also unable to help... More

Stayed here on our way back from a wonderful photo safari at Zulu Nyala in mid-September 2014. Very nice location, wonderful staff, and the rooms were very nice overlooking a garden. You must eat dinner at the Hamilton's restaurant -- it was the best meal we had in South Africa! Just a small note: there is not air conditioning but... More

We spent four very comfortable days at the Hamilton. Loved the architecture and modern style. Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was also very good. The only thing we could fault was the lack of secure parking for vehicles

It's a nice and stylish little hotel, with nice design at a comfortable location. I only felt my room a little noisy, as guests may enjoy the evening in the terrace until late hours without realising that they disturb guests in rooms nearby. During the day we could clearly listen the lawn mower in operation for quite a while. Also... More

I have been staying at The Hamilton since 2011 when it opened and continue to return. It is the most beautifully and tastefully appointed boutique hotel with all the amenties one could require on a business trip. It is modern and stylish and yet shows the personal touches of bottled water at the bedside (still and sparklin), mints and fresh... More

I stayed here for two nights for a conference that was held in Sandton. I wanted to avoid the big chains and I am so glad I did- this hotel is a fantastic find! The place is really well decorated and very intimate. The rooms have the nicest finishes and the beds are so comfortable. You get twice the luxury... More

This place really has potential, but in room 5 I had my *worst* sleep of 2013. I will probably sleep better on the plane tonight. The hotel is located at a very busy intersection. So you hear road noise all night long. On top of that the window shades do not block out the bright light from the security lights... More
