Illovo Lodge is a great place to be where business and academia meet in a serious as well as informative interaction. The learning and exchange of trendy issues facing society and communities at large is revealed in an open mature surrounds. Free Wi-fi and an excellent lit desk makes the whole experience wholesame on the accomodation side of things. However,... More

My stay at this lodge ranks as one of the worst of my life. The lodge and accommodation was fine, clean and acceptable, but the food experience was literally rancid. Stale, mouldy, cold and rancid! So if you want breakfast with your bed or dinner at your accommodation, avoid this lodge at all cost!

The Illovo Lodge is a great place to stay, particularly for anyone attending classes at the GIBS business school. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable with a well-lit desk for studying, and free wi-fi. The breakfast is excellent, and the only complaint I heard from another traveller during my stay was that the aircon was noisy, which might... More

The Illovo Lodge is primarily designed for people attending courses and functions at GIBS (Gordon Institute of Business Studies). The accommodation is very good for this purpose. The rooms are neatly laid out and well equipped. The Wi-Fi is excellent and overall I have been very satisfied with the accommodation on the two occasions i have stayed there.

Pleasant enough if you're on a course. Food in GIBs + free WiFi make it a reasonable deal. That said the rooms are very hot and you make choice between not sleeping because it's too hot and not sleeping because the cooling fan (air con is too grand a word) is too noisy. The bar in GIBS closes at 9.00pm

The Illovo is on the GIBS campus. It's a small, green, clean campus - safe, secure and reasonably charming (if small) The problem is that it's the ONLY thing on the GIBS campus. The cafeteria is housed in a temporary space, serving an 'under construction' menu to staff who will tell you that it's been a year so far and... More

We like to say that it is all about the people you meet. Well the Ilovo Lodge is merely a fair facility with outstanding staff. If you are new to Johannesburg and are a little timid then this spotlessly clean little hotel in a nice neighborhood (part of a college campus) iis for you. Thank you Jane and thank you... More
