We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to South Africa.we got picked up on arrival at the airport by the hostel's transport. We used their transport to go all over and felt in good hands (station and shopping mall). The girls at the reception were very kind to us. Breakfast was a bit scarce. The heating... More

we stayed here for two nights. the attraction was the airport pick up, well done :) they have everything you need and the staff were always so friendly and helpful and it was in a nice area. The hostel could have been a little cleaner and the breakfast wasn't up to much, but cannot argue with the price paid :)... More

The reason to check in this hostel after arrival at the OR Tembo airport was definitely the airport service. On their website it is well explained where to go for the pickup at the airport. The hostel is situated in a safe area and 10 minutes walking eastwards brings you to a small china town. In the hostel meals are... More

Didn't plan to stay a night in joburg but my luggage was lost and I need to find a place in a hurry. Everyone here was very nice. The place is cool, many backpackers to talk with, nice diner, cheap price, safe surrounding and a smile in everyface. Thanks

Huge hostel but homey. We were supposed to be in a dorm but as a group of students were to come in later in the day, upon arrival they moved us to a family room. Well, a room with a double and a bunk bed + bathroom ensuite. Can't complain. The only reason I rated them as average was that... More

Came here expecting a cool, laid back hostel as it's in an ex-mafia mansion, however we were massively disappointed. We paid R170 for an 18 bed dorm which felt like a sardine tin - there was literally no room to move. This was pretty ridiculous considering we'd been paying R130 for private rooms in other hostels. We don't have high... More

The staff was a bit brusque the two times I stayed there. The beds seemed a little dirty but there was always hot water, so it was pretty good. Definitely secure and safe inside but it's not very close to anything besides the East Gate Mall. When I initially arrived I was stranded at the airport for an extra 3... More

This place is really cool! A bit expensive, but the value for your money is great!! Fast wifi, free computers, cool TV area and a pool table! The food in the bar&restaurant is expansive, but good. That also have laundry& drying machines for 2$!! Only one problem- the dorms' showers are really not private.. And the water aren't really warm..

I have mix feelings writing a review from this place as there was good moments and really bad ones. The staff was overall friendly and the room OK for the price, but the deal breaker was the lack of control over a group of 23 hormone loaded teenagers that scream, laugh, slam doors until 1:30 AM in the morning and... I was sleeping at the dorms for one night, it was very nice. The pickup service is awesome. The dinner was really good. The women at the reception was lovely and she was helped me a lot. Good music at the bar. I met there cool people.
