We both really enjoyed our stay at Oyster Bay Lodge. The rooms were more simply decorated than some we had stayed in, but in keeping with the natural surroundings and perfectly comfortable. We always had plenty of hot water for the free-standing bath, unlike a previous reviewer. The views were to die for. We could see the sea from our... More

We had a short stay, but with amazing relaxation value. A sun set walk, fisher boats in the distance (no noise heard) a lushes dinner and good night sleep. Horses passing by ... and a definite booking for our next trip: A picnic basket ordered to the private dune of our choice!

Food was tasteless, attempted fine dining in absence of chef Rooms floor was dirty Lovely free standing bath but not enough hot water to enjoy, had to boil kettle Breakfast was among hundreds of flies, flies are a real problem Squid fishing boats make noise with diesel engines Lodge is overpriced

Getting to the Lodge is an adventure in itself, but well worth it once you get there! There is nothing around for miles and the views, walks scenery are second to none! We stayed there for one night inbetween travelling to a private game reserve. It was well worth the detour, spent the afternoon walking on the prestine beach and... More

We have just returned from a one week stay at Oyster Bay Lodge - what a magnificent setting. The lodge is in a coastal reserve (235 hectares) so you see very few other people - to feel that relaxed in the middle of peak holiday season, then it must be a very special place! The chalets are great, with beautiful... More

We arrived very tired after travelling around South Africa. We had a very friendly reception and shown to our room. The room was terrific - garden to rear and nature reserve with sea view to the front. A superb bath and shower to luxuriate in. We wanted nothing more - we had peace and tranquility for 3 nights to end... More

We can only reiterate what the previous reviewers have said, and say that the standards are still the same in November 2007. The accommodation is excellent, as are the meals, and the friendliness and caring attitude of the staff is superb. The views are amazing. We spent 4 nights at Oyster Bay, and people staying for shorter periods were very... More

This accomodation is at the end of a 25K unmade road. Do not be put off by this - it all adds to the experience. Allow an hour to drive slowly along the road, the farms & birdlife will have you constantly stopping to take photographs. My wife & myself only stayed for one night arriving during the late afternoon... More
