I loved the Kelway. From the second we arrived we were warmly welcomed and it was a great start to our South African experience. All the staff were lovely, but particularly look out for SISA, behind the bar. Great location, just a few hundred yards from the beach. It has a nice 'colonial' feel to the building, lovely restaurant/bar with... more

Very close and easy to get to from Port Elizabeth Airport. A nice clean hotel with no lift but helpful staff and free parking. Good bed and great breakfast, Very helpful- sea view is from the side and you can see more of the port that you would like not that pretty but still a one night stop over it... more

We found the dining room staff to be Kelway's strength, as they were all attentive, friendly and helpful. The road noise created by the hotel's close proximity to a night club made sleep extremely difficult to come by during our three night stay. Apparently this club is undergoing renovation now, so this may not be a problem in the future,... more

To us, this was just an overnight stop at the end of the garden route before we went on our safari. We didn’t think much of Port Elizabeth itself, but the hotel wasn't bad. True, the room and bathroom were a little dated, but the hotel restaurant we found to be very good and it has a fantastic terrace area... more

Stayed at the Kelway for one night before an early flight from PE airport. What can I say, the hotel was ok but we weren't really there long enough to experience it properly. Our room was adequate though slightly tired. Stragely there was only one of everything on the hospitality tray so it was one cup of tea between two.... more

We were luckily only here for our first two nights. Why does Saga lower its standards and choose this hotel? It is situated in a boring, uninteresting, tired area of Port Elizabeth, and even the seashore here is hardly worth a visit. The Boardwalk centre is tacky, and please visit the Aquarium in Cape Town rather than the Oceanarium here.... more

we stayed here for 4 nights and upon seeing our rooms we wanted to move out immediately. We had booked with our travel agent in Ireland and were advised that we were staying in the 4* part of the hotel...yes, have you ever heard anything like it, there is the 3* part of the hotel and a 4* part but... more

Stayed in The Kelway Hotel in Port Elizabeth for two nights in Sept 2007, Rooms were lovely, Beds were really comfortable, Seems to be a quiet area except on a Friday night when the boy riders like to take their cars for a spin. Didnt disturb me but it did for others. Also, dont do your washing tru the hotel,... more
