Excellent 5 star venue in a great location. We hosted a very successful quality leadership dinner forum at the Hacklewood Hill Country House. The venue exceeded my expectation in everyway. Staff highly professional, accommodating and as for the service - simply faultless. Highly recommended!

Visited Hacklewood Hill for High Tea with my mom in August 2014. It was such a treat! From the impeccable service (thank you Vuyo and Tiffany) to the scrumptious savoury and sweet delights which have been carefully prepared and presented, Hacklewood's does not disappoint! The house is gorgeous and has recently been refurbished whilst maintaining it's Victorian features, and you... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful country manor at the beginning of our Garden Route drive. Had we know how beautiful this place would be, and what a lovely town Port Elizabeth is, we would have stayed more than the one night. Upon arrival, the gates opened up to the beautiful grounds. We were... More

Thank you for taking the time out to write this incredible review about our Hacklewood Hill Country House. From the day we opened our doors at Hacklewood the idea was to keep the originality of the vintage house, where guests would be transported into a different era. A lot of labour has gone into this ideal. In fact many of... More

Once you have passed the gate and are in the garden you get a good feeling of you have arrived to a place that is something extra. The friendly and warm personal welcome make you feel like home. The rooms are nice furnished and the bathroom well equiped. After having had dinner and breakfast it is easy to yearn for... More

Lovely Victorian ambiance but not really suited to the business traveller. Have stayed here twice but next time I'll be looking for an alternative. The rooms do not have any table / desk / workstation so the business traveller's laptop becomes exactly that - a lap top. Rooms clean and a little over the top on period finishes (a 4-poster... More

I took my parents to lunch on Mothers day at the restaurant - the service was great, the food was delicious - definitely PE's best kept secret! The dining room and reception area were very cosy and welcoming. Will definitely be back for more!

We only had 1 night here and wished we could have stayed longer. Such a beautiful place and restaurant was superb for both dinner and breakfast. Just loved everything about it - the building, the room, the HUGE bathroom, the beautiful decor and the food. Absolutely no complaints

We stayed at this hotel in January having just flown in and before we went onto Safari. Our room was nicely decorated with a large bathroom and the staff were very friendly and helpful The hotel was in a very peaceful location, although this did mean that there wasn’t much nearby, we ate in the hotel that night and the... An amazing experience! We stayed only one night at the end of the Garden Route, before continuing on safari. The Edwardian splendour of our room (and bathroom!) was something we have never experienced even in the UK. Our evening meal was excellent - and Paul's attention to detail was impeccable. We would certainly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. Have... More

Hacklewood Hill is a former grand and large Edwardian manor house set in gardens in a quiet residential road. It retains almost all of the period charm whilst having modern facilites. We only stayed one night for B&B as we had a dinner invitation elsewhere. I can only add that it is not suitable for people who prefer the clean... More
