The moment I picked up the phone (3 weeks ago) untill we left I had the most efficient, professional and that little personal touch of the staff I ever experience at a hotel! I left all to Leon to arrange my little intimate wedding of 10 people and got the most beautifull wedding ever, better that I could imagine. With... More

We stayed here for three nights in August 2014. We had 2 ground floor rooms (rooms 2 and 4) overlooking the beach and lagoon. The rooms were clean and comfortable but did not include fridge/minibar. On our first night we ate in the adjoining restaurant and found the food to be excellent, but a bit limited in variety for our... More

We could hardly believe it when we got there. Absolutely perfectly situated right by the beach in Plettenberg Bay. Wonderful rooms, excellent breakfast. Excellent restaurant belonging to the hotel. We could have stayed longer...

The name says it all. the hotel opens up right on the beach and is absolute bliss. We stayed there for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms are large with a great bathroom. The bathtub is huge and was a big plus to us honeymooners ;) The rooms have a nice balcony overlooking the sea and... More

Thank you for such a wonderful stay even though it was only one night. We were travelling the garden route and didn't know how many nights/days to stay, all I can say it was too short! The Kingklip we had at the attached restaurant was the best on the entire trip! What a treasure of a hotel and spot on... More

Had a quick visit by default to Plettenberg Bay, stayed at Milkwood Manor. Rooms very spacious and the ball and claw bath bliss. A pleasure walking on our own beach and lagoon, the lagoon just outside our private garden, witnessing dolphins and whales. Supper was absolutely perfect and the best meal I've experienced in years, nothing to complain about from... More

Milkwood manor is somewhat pompous and I felt we were an inconvenience because we arrived after dark because we got lost and our GPS was hopeless. Our room was located at the top of a flight of stairs, outside, through a doorway and way too small for two people. We asked for a room on ground level as my friend... More

Three of us recently stayed at Milkwood Manor, The location of this Prime Guesthouse couldn't be better! Certainly the best views of the bay and surrounds, and close to all amenities. The Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and the service was excellent. Breakfast was great! Will certainly stay here again!

I stayed here with 2 friends and found Milkwood Manor on Sea to be a lovely place to stay for a few nights. Gorgeous position and views, central spot to take day trips from, owner was helpful and warm, rooms were clean and had lovely views, shower pressure not so great, breakfast included.

I stayed in April with my girlfriend at this guesthouse and we were somewhat underwhelmed.. Good things first... 1. Firstly the location of the guest house is great for the beach and it is quite spectacular... 2. They wash your car for you free of charge. 3. The owners of the guesthouse are lovely and very helpful. We only saw... More

Dear Robert H Thank you kindly for your long review and we do sincerely apologise that you did not experience the best Milkwood Manor welcome possible. It is somewhat of an anomaly as our reception prides itself, as is usually positively commented, on its friendly efficiency. We will seriously look into the matter and ensure that improvements are made. Kindly... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Location: The most enviable location on the Garden Route. At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, jutting into the ocean - any closer and you would be in it! - as well as the estuary of a large lagoon- no neighbours but nature! Exquisite, unimpeded 180 views (360 from the roof deck) of the vast blue ocean, golden beaches, large lagoon and the imposing Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Nature all'round, yet not isolated, but only a 2-minute drive from the town centre and its trendy shops.A pristine beach: accessible from the sheltered cove adjacent to the Manor - ideal for swimming in natural water – you may boat across to an unspoiled and usually deserted beach, far from built-up areas, traffic, crowds and noise. Blissful solitude and a complete immersion in nature, with only the sound of white-crested surf tumbling at one’s feet and the calls of a medley of seabirds – a veritable bird sanctuary. Becalming and rejuvenating - the perfect antidote for stress,. With luck you may even find the mysterious and sought-after pansy shell (sand dollar). The Manor: built in classic Georgian style, with an airy double-volume foyer and eleven double bedrooms, most with private patio or balcony. All rooms are decorated in crisp white and en-suite to a shower cubicle with/without bath, and a queen bed or twin beds, TV-hospitality package, free uncapped Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, fan, heater and hairdryer. The sash windows allow the fresh ocean air straight in. ... more   less
