This beautifully minimalist lodge is right on the beach-you may see whales from your window (beware only 6 rooms have sea views so pay for this if it matters-or go sit in the lounge!) Rooms have everything you need and are bright and spacious-and very clean! Lovely buffet breakfast and helpful staff-all in all a very good stay!

This is a wonderful comfortable hotel right on the beach. Unfortunately we arrived near dusk one evening and had to be out early the next morning. We did manage a 15 minute walk on the beach at sunset and saw whales!! The hotel is in a perfect location, and the top floor sits high for ideal whale watching from reception.... More

Situated right on Plettenberg Bay, we were upgraded to a room with fantastic panoramic views across the bay – on the first morning we awoke to a marvellous display by several whales just outside our windows. Breakfasts were delicious and the staff were friendly and the manager helpful in advising us of places to go to see and eat.

This must be one of the top places I have been. It's a lovely guest house that affords great views of the beach and a sunrise you won't forget easily. The room in the basement that I was given was immaculate with a great bathroom. It is very reasonably priced and I only wish I could have stayed an extra... More

What a gorgeous location! This Guest Lodge is utterly gorgeous, spacious and nothing is too much for the staff. We were welcomed by Beth and given a tour of the property and our room, which was immaculate, huge and with perfect touches. We were offered if we wanted them to make a booking for dinner, which is always a fantastic... More

The Robberg is a very small hotel, perhaps closer to a guest house, but guestrooms are huge. Just the bathroom we had was smaller than that of the entire room in some Tokyo hotels. We were individually welcomed by the manager, who gave us a tour of the property. She also was very helpful in providing hints on what to... More

The setting is great, the views are spectacular, the rooms are very comfortable and the staff are very attentive. We couldn't have asked for anything more. I specifically liked the honesty bars, and the port and muffins set out each night for guests to help themselves to. Chantel was also kind enough to help us book an ocean safari, and... More

Thanks for giving us such a great review. It sounds like you really enjoyed your stay. Plettenberg Bay is such a wonderful place to visit and we're thrilled you loved all of it. Your kind words were a lot like experiencing the sunshine on a winter's day- nothing could make us happier. For us as a family, this is a... More

We were here in the off season and had stayed at a hotel in Knysna the evening before with NO HEAT. We were very thankful to find the Robberg and enjoy the most efficient heating system from our two week trip across So. Africa. If you run cold, this is a great place to stay in the winter. the staff... More

Ha ha, we really liked your appeal to the whole of Africa on where to find warmth this winter: word's out and I'm sure we'll be fully booked all through the 'off' season from now on.South African winters can be quite unpredictable: one minute you're thinking of swimming and the next you're dripping wet with all the rain. Having a... More

I was really impressed. I went in with low expectations. Only needed to stay in Plett for 1 night but my word. I must come back. Staff were awesome. They even started the braai for me. Rooms are huge, breakfast nice, deck for viewing was amazing. Will return for sure.
