I stayed at Woodbury Tented Camp for two nights and did four game drives. The camp staff are all very friendly and attentive. The facilities are good for relaxing between game drives and it was always wonderful to have hot chocolate waiting for us in the evenings in the cold. The food was exemplary and balanced. The tent was well... More

Our guests stayed in Woodbury Tented Camp last May, as many guests have stayed before them. As always the Camp is great, the personell is sweet and considerate and the manager Gilles deserves all credits and thumbs up for his flexibility and profesionalism. If you are ever in doubt, both Woodbury Tented Camp and the Lodge are absolute gems in... More

Our small family with daughter of 9 tremendously enjoyed visiting the Amakhala park, and Woodbury tented camp was probably the best choice in the park for us - very comfortable, buckets of charm, without getting ridiculously posh. We had a great, knowledgeable and friendly guide and got to see elephants, lions, cheetah, rhino, buffalo and hundreds of other animals.

Woodbury Tented Camp is one of several game viewing venues in the Amakahla Reserve about 1 hour’s drive northeast from Port Elizabeth. The 17,000 hectare reserve was created about 20 years ago from five ranches that joined together and reintroduced native animals. The game viewing is quite good, including rhino, elephant, lion, cheetah, etc. My wife and I stayed here... More

We chose Amakhala Woodbury Tented Camp and stayed there for one night because we wanted the experience to sleep in a tent once more. We love the night sounds and could easily stay awake just for enjoying these sounds. The tent was super comfortable! And the food was very good. More important though, is that we very much enjoyed the... More

Travelled in November 2014 for our first annniversary, stayed 1 night. It was a beautiful setting with fenced perimeter in the middle of a forest, the camp was very nicely set in the forest with very private setting. Hotel staff was very nice and courteous and went to great pains to make sure our stay was comfortable. The chef specially... More

Loved the tents and facilities in the camp. The problem was that the vehicles were pretty old and the number of animals in the reserve seemed much less than at Shamwari, where we stayed the day before. However, this place was almost half the price, so I guess you get what you pay for. Having said that, it was a... More

My husband and I stayed at the Woodbury Tented Camp Accommodation in May 2014 for 3 nights while on our honeymoon and must say we had a wonderful time. Being the only guests staying at the resort at this time I must admit we were treated like royalty with our every need being catered for. We went on several jeep... More

We spent two nights at Woodbury Lodge at the end of our South African holiday, it was truly memorable. The tents are very comfortable, with everything you would expect from a good hotel, staff were lovely, so helpful and accommodating, food was fantastic, they have a great chef! Our guide Wesley, was great, it was our first experience of a... More

This was a trip to remember and we loved it. We had Tent #5 with a view over the reserve and a lovely breeze in the afternoons. We stayed 3 nights and had 5 game drives with Jason who was super and enjoyed teaching us. We saw plenty of game and one evening had our 'sundowner' drink among the giraffes.... More
