A little piece of paradise gently tucked away in between the lagoon and the sea. Just a step away from the ocean and lagoon had us feeling proud of our beautiful country that has so much to offer. The meals were fresh out of the ocean - seafood feast to say the least. The staff were open to trying new... More

Wonderful piece of earth! Great location and lovely, helpful staff make this Wild coast experience just perfect! We enjoyed the great food and good service at Wavecrest as well as being able to use the kanoes and waveskies when we needed them. Sean took us out on a wonderful, peaceful trip up the river, absolutely amazing nature!! We are blown... More

This hotel has been around forever. With its fantastic location its easy to see why. The swimming pool has a great location for sundowners. Rooms in front have beautiful views of river mouth. Meals are tasty, beware if staying for a week go slow... can easily pick up a couple of kgs! Great walks along the beach .Canoes that are... More

We enjoyed a great holiday & celebration week at Wavecrest, with most of our nearest and dearest gathering for our marriage. The hotel management and staff were great, food was wholesome and tasty, service was good, rooms were comfy and the views from the sea/river facing rooms are fantastic. A perfect seaside hide-away for complete relaxation, family time, sea sand... More

We have stayed here twice over the years and it is without doubt one of the best places ever. It over looks the mouth of a river (actually two rivers, with unpronounceable names, flow into one mouth) and across to a beautiful long beach. One time we were there it was out of season and there were just six of... More

We stayed here 30 years ago and were looking forward to renewing our acquaintence. We were not disappointed - the hotel is in the process of being refurbished but retains its old world charm.A bell is rung to announce meal times. The lounge area is comfortable. Service was more than adequate. The bed and room were lovely with views of... More

Made our booking during March for our December holiday. Payed the deposit and confirmed the booking before we left. After traveling for 18 hours we arrived at the run down lodge. As we tried to check in our names did not appear on their list. After 40 minutes of waiting it was confirmed, they made a double booking as we... More

Guests got dates confused and arrived on wrong day during peak season. -Booking confirmed by Wavecrest for arriving 20 Dec 2013. -Booking later changed to arriving 21 Dec (email request from guest). Reason given for date change was work commitments. - Booking for 1 day later was confirmed by Wavecrest (as per email). - Guests then arrived 1 day early... More

Although the road getting there takes about an hour (from Butterworth), the drive is worth the view and tranquility once you arrive. The chalets are basic and could use a renovation, but the service was good and 5 course dinners never go amiss. No TVs or fridges in rooms. Loads of great walks and fishing on the lagoon, or if... An easy weekend getaway - approx. 2.5 hours drive from east London. Our garden view rondavel was a really good choice of room - modern inside with the look of a traditional rondavel outside and a stunning view of the river. The hotel is situated right where the river and sea meet which makes for amazing views. The staff were... More

We had a lovely holiday of beach combing, boating up the river to see the mangrove swamps, and just totally relaxing. Excellent food, good friendly service and beautiful outlook. The rooms were ok but the place is a little tired looking. Beds were comfy and the place was very clean. It's a laid back place without pretentious and I would... More
