We have been going to Katberg for Sunday lunch for many years and it has always been a good experience. Yesterday was terrible! Firstly we were told there would be a normal buffet lunch only to find it was not the case. We ordered of the al a carte menu. The food was cold and not very appetising. We wanted... More

This eco estate is situated in the Katberg Mountains close to Seymour in the Eastern Cape. We stayed in a 2-bedroom self catering chalet on the golf course which is beautifully furnished and well equipped. There is also a hotel on the estate. The golf course is also in a very good condition with greens that are a thick grass... More

We booked a family holiday with my folks for two nights in one of the cottage on the golf course. We made the booking a couple of days earlier by email and followed up by phone. Once we arrived on Sunday afternoon , they had our booking but did not seem to know which cottage was ready. after finding out... More

We were there for a Trail Run on the Saturday and a bit of golf on the Sunday. The trail run was most enjoyable, taking us to over 1000m above sea level, through the indigenous forests on the mountain. It was winter, and the rain and mist came in, but it did not detract from the awesome experience of running... More

The hotel is slightly off the main road on a dirt road, which we had to drive slowly. From arrival the service was amazing, the rooms were basic but had everything we needed and the location made us feel really removed from city living. We walked around the gardens which were beautiful and had lovely little activities for children throughout.... More

We visited Katberg Hotel in 2010/2011 and had a wonderful time there. Yes, the hotel and the rooms is old, and yes, it can do with a bit of a make-over (carpets, bathrooms etc.), but nevertheless, the place was clean and the service excellent! As far as value for money - you won't get better! The price per night includes... More

We enjoyed a night at this secluded spot recently and our time was enjoyed by all. It is in a secluded location and is perfect for those looking to 'get away'. The staff was friendly, helpful and polite. The management is apparently somewhat new and were also very accommodating folks looking to really do good things with this establishment. Although... I spent a couple of nights with family in the mountains at Katberg. Scenery is amazing so is the birding. Didn't get around to doing much birding, but what I saw in between the relaxing and playing golf, bring the binoculars. We stayed in a self catering unit. Very spacious and clean and well equipped. The units are situated on... More

We booked in for 3 nights in one of the golf lodges and arrived earlier than anticipated at around mid-day on a Sunday. However, we only had to wait for 20 minutes before being shown our 2-bedroom lodge which was very new, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Having unpacked, we decided to drive over to the golf course to arrange... More

This place looked very grand when we turned up dirty & dusty after a long day's drive. Very nice main building with rooms in annexes scattered around the attractive grounds. Our room was a good size but pretty damp with that unused damp smell. Ummm. Anyhow, perfectly adequate for 1 night. Nice bar & good buffet supper with very good... More
