I traveled alone to the North Rim in late Sept. and booked a room at the Kaibab Lodge. My room was in a 4 plex building, and while it was clean and adequate there was no way to lock myself in the room at night. Anyone with a key could have come in at any time. I just thought this... more

Just returned from the North Rim. Lodging is very sparse on the N Rim and Kaibab is the closest lodging outside of the park. The rooms were clean. There is a wall space heater. It worked. The bathroom was clean but nothing fancy. The lighting in the room was very dim. Had to go in the bathroom to read some... more

I was never so disguested in my life. We wanted to stay inside the National Park but couldn't get a reservation. So, we decided to stay at the Kaibab Lodge. We will definitely return to the North Rim at some point, but if I can't get a room in the park, we just won't go. This place was a complete... more

This facility was described as "rustic" but that doesn't even describe the condition of the cabin we stayed in. There was no TV or phone but we were aware of that prior to making reservation. This was a nasty two bedroom cabin with only two lights. The heater was old and poorly venilated and we were afraid to leave on... more

Request new cabin...NOT 4 plex units which are noisy. Staff is most unpleasant..location is only reason to stay. Unfortunately this property needs serious customer service training and housekeeping help!! more

We wound up at the Kaibab Lodge by accident, when the place we'd booked into turned out to be on the other side of the Grand Canyon. This place is no frills but the staff is very friendly; it's well located, and the restaurant has really good food. There are cabins and the lodge itself. I don't know how the... more

Wanted to see North Rim of Grand Canyon and lodging is very limited. Kaibab Lodge was close and had rooms so we stayed n the Deerview "Cabin." The cabin was a dilapidated doublewide. The carpet was stained, The bathroom had long hairs on the shower walls and floors. There were no plates, dishes, silverware, glasses or anything else, even though... more

Watch closely for signs since they are not obtrusive. Remember the time change in Arizona since they don't do Daylight Savings. Check-in isn't until 3:00 Arizona time. Rooms are comfortable and air conditioning not necessary with the hot summers getting down to the 50s at night. Deer, birds and hummers abound at dusk so drive carefully between the lodge and... more

This is a lodge that has many older and smaller cabins. The newer cabins are nice but cost 50% more. The older cabins are dumpy--and that is a complement! Our cabin was dirty, the shower dribbled out the water, doors had gaps of 1/2 inch to the outside. Thus, you have no security for you or your possessions. They allow... more
