3 couples all in cabins. Old sagging beds, no hot water, tiny bathroom and still over $100 a nite. Can't shave or bathe. In 40 years of traveling this ranks as one of the most run down places we have ever stayed. Food was fine the help try's but just have nothing to work with. These cabins should not rented... More

Enjoyed a nice visit in the North rim area. Great place to use as the base to visit the parks in the area. No internet or Wi-fi. Quite, peaceful place. Great food in the Dining room, good breakfast in the cafe.

Which is basically the only hotel for miles around. We couldn't get accommodation at the North Rim and this was one of the nearest places, that said its a good hours drive. We stayed in the newer block and the room was perfectly decent. with a nice clean feel and agood bathroom

The cabins are old. They are clean and small. The bathroom is small and the shower is smaller. But, you don't stay there to be in your cabin! The pine trees are beautiful and you are close to the North Rim. The restaurant had good food and the service was very good!

We were so enthralled with the North Rim that we asked to extend our stay by an additional day. We had already requested that our reservation be moved to the hotel and were pleased that a number of reservations were shuffled to accommodate our request. The food is excellent but due to heavy business the service was slow. The hotel... More

We appreciate your comments and are glad you enjoyed your stay and especially the spectacular North Rim of Grand Canyon. The North Rim gets only about 10% of the travelers that go to the Grand Canyon, so coming to this side is a much less crowded experience. Being 1,000 feet higher than the other side, you are surrounded by ponderosa,... More

given the distances you have to travel in the Arizona Strip, you don't have a lot of choices as far as accommodations go. so the management has no reason to really improve the facility. Kanab in Utah has a lot more hotels but it's almost 40 miles NW of Jacob Lake(junction of 89A & 67).Kaibab Lodge & the Grand Canyon Lodge... More

You are correct, there are not many places to stay on the Arizona Strip, due to the isolation and difficulty of getting supplies, etc. The cabins are rustic, but we keep them maintained and clean. We will speak to the housekeeping staff about the disinfectant. Thank you for your review. More

I have stayed at Jacob Lake Inn many times over the years. It is a unique institution that needs to be appreciated on its own terms. Despite being the only outpost of civilization for miles around, if these are not the friendliest people in the entire hospitality industry then I will eat my tourist hat. I usually stay in the... Wow. What a great review. We truly want to help our guests in any way we can. You are right, this is an outpost in a very remote location, and we appreciate being taken on our own terms. We hope you will continue to stay with us. More

we stayed 1 night before heading to the north rim. we checked out the website for things to do around the area (for the first day we got there) and the website suggested there was plenty to do in the nearby forest - hiking, mountain biking etc so we were pretty excited! we arrived at 11am and spent about an... Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you were not able to get an information sheet about the biking trails. We have spoken to the reception staff and they have been shown where they are. As the website says, the cabins are rustic, we are not trying to advertise them as anything else. We are checking into the toilet... More

My family stayed here one night before entering the North Rim. We had a family cabin which had a double bed in one room and 2 queen beds in another room. The double bedroom was extremely small with only enough room for the bed and a chair, but the larger bedroom had a desk and an end table and plenty... More

If you have read other reviews you are already aware that the amenities are very minimal. The only cell service available anywhere near the North Rim is Verizon. This is not the hotel's issue but I thought it worth letting people know. What is their issue is that they have no phone service period. There is a phone in the... More

Thank you for your review. We certainly understand the frustration with the internet situation. We feel your pain. We are completely at the mercy of our provider and they provide us with very little bandwidth. It is not possible at this time for us to have more access. The same is true with the phone service. Our telephone provider gives... More
