Originally booked a room on the spur of the moment at a lodge on the south rim. The place had no air, and the bugs were out in swarms. Drove to Jacob Inn and they had a vacancy - and the room was a very pleasant surprise. Got a good nights sleep and the resturant was very good. The bakery... More

We had hoped to stay in the lodge at the Rim itself, but as usual that was booked out way in advance. We even had difficulty getting a room at Jacob Lake, despite booking over 4 months in advance. The motel itself is fine, if a little pricey for what it is, but the location accounts for that. We stayed... More

We recently stayed at the hotel part of the Inn for one night while visiting the North Rim. We found the hotel room to be quaintly decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip and the cookies are as good as everyone claims. The Jacob Lake Inn is an obviously popular place... More

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you arrived on a typical Sunday- with people leaving to go home at the end of a weekend trip or their vacation. It is great to be here with people from all over the country and the world. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope you will... More

Wife and I stopped over on way to Grand Canyon. Glad we did. Room is average, staff is good, story telling by owner is best. You will enjoy this place. Be sure to attend the free talks on the Navaho nation. Excellent! Owner spent 2 hours up close and personal that made the time extremely entertaining and worthwhile. Do it.... More

Thanks for a great review. You will never have an experience like the talk given by John Rich about Navajo culture and traditions, or the one given by Matt Rich on photography. These men are both professionals and experts and share their knowledge on subjects very dear to them. We hope you will come again and stay with us. More

Never again! We reserved a family cabin for six in February for two nights in June and when we arrived after a long driving trip, we were told that they did not have a cabin available even though we had a confirmation number and reservation. The manager argued with us and would not admit that they made a big mistake.... More

Thank you for your review. This situation was unfortunate, and we are very sorry. When these people came, they had a confirmation for three cabins for one night and three cabins the next night. However, in our reservation system, the family unit was cancelled for the first night and it was unavailable for the second night. We had noticed the... More

We stayed in one of the cabins on the property and found it to be above average for a rustic cabin. There was plenty of hot water and room for four adults and a deck outside that invited sitting and enjoying the evening. The walk to Jacob "Lake" itself is a nice enough, but the lake can only be defined... More

Thank you for your review. You are correct, the lake is very small, and its importance is historical and the fact that it and a hundred or so other small lakes like it are the only surface water on the Kaibab Plateau, which is important for wildlife. Small as these lakes are, they are pretty. We are glad you enjoyed... More

Jacob Lake AZ is not in your GPS, it is literally an oasis about 45 minutes north of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. If you are unable to get a reservation at the Rim this is the next best place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant has excellent food, large portions, you might want... More

Staff was all great. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. Very quiet. Never heard our neighbors. Very nice gift shop with wonderful prices. Upscale dining or more casual eating. Lots of variety and food very good. No coffee makers in room because of Park restrictions so have to buy in the lobby. Wish guests would get... More

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay- especially that you got into the spirit of being "unplugged". It is not our intent to be without wifi or phone service, we constantly work with our providers for better service. But since we can't make it perfect at the present time, it is nice when people can... More

This is a quaint family-run hotel and inn. We stayed in the 2 story hotel so had cable TV and internet access. We stayed 2 nights while visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (about an hour's drive away). The staff when we visited were mainly college students - all very friendly and enthusiastic. We had only booked one... More

I don't understand some of the reviews here, they just don't seem to make sense. This is a place where you can stay in a motel or cabins. It's not a nice lodge with tons of amenities. It's a place to stay so you can see the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It's the only restaurant on the way... More

Thank you for your response. We do not advertise to be a five star hotel, and have no aspirations to be so as that would price us out of the range of most visitors to the North Rim. There are certainly things we are trying to improve, but, as you say, this is a great place to stay, with good... More
