This establishment is a welcoming sight in a whole stretch of moonscape scenery. It is at about 7900ft after a climb. I visited March and there were still ice patches on the ground. In warmer months (mid May onwards) the road leading to north rim opens. The rooms are more comfortable than expected. The photos dont do them justice. Pleasantly... More

We stayed here two nights in August, 2014 on our trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The beds were comfortable and the facilities, while basic, worked fine. The cabins are nestled among huge pine trees and the atmosphere is peaceful and inspiring. The restaurant was wonderful; we ate several meals there and were never disappointed. The service... More

If you are traveling to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and can't get any lodging inside the Park, then this is the only place for you. This rustic old lodge/hotel/restaurant is literally on the only road that takes you in and out of the North Rim. There are also cabins and a playground area for kids. We got... More

We visited the Jacob Lake in the last week of September. We stayed three nights. The hotel was fine. It is a bit rustic and basic but it was clean and quiet. We had a room in one of the buildings near the back. Our first experience at the counter was bad and we almost didn't go back. There was... More

Thank you for your review. I apologize for the experience you had at the counter. I assure you, our staff is trained to wipe down the counter and the tables before any guest is seated. We are certainly inspected regularly and have never had lower than an A grade. This was a failure by an individual. Knowing that she had... More

This is a pleasant old fashioned motel in the middle of nowhere, about 50 miles from the north rim of Grand Canyon National Park. It is set among the pine trees in a quiet spot near the road to GCNP. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The TV was set on top of a long antique white table... More

Thank you for your review. I do have to mention that the countertops in those rooms are granite, not Formica. I have also never heard of the problem you experienced with the water pressure. We will certainly attend to it. I am glad you enjoyed your meal and the cookies. I apologize for the water pressure- thank you again for... More

This is a very nice place to stop before/after visiting the Grand Canyon National Park. The motel is close to the forest, so very quiet. It is just outside the park. Rooms are clean, large enough and beds are comfortable. Staff at the hotel is very nice and ready to help. We had a great stay there.

We drove down to the lodge in the Grand Canyon Park and everything closes as of Oct. 15. The hotel in Flagstaff was apparently not aware. So when we found out we had to back track to Jacob Inn.It was a cozy appropriate lodging for the area. We were lucky to have a chance to eat before they closed. The... More

Thank you for your review. You are correct, the lodge at the North Rim usually closes October 15, although you can still see the canyon after the lodge is closed. We are glad we were able to accommodate you. Because of US Forest Service regulations and extreme fire danger, we are not allowed to have coffee makers or have any... More

The Jacob Inn and motel units are very old and rustic, but is clean and seem well run with a friendly staff and reasonable prices off season at least. The breakfast is pretty good and at reasonable prices and bacon was tasty and the pancakes were big, wish they had real VT maple syrup. Dinner was good and ample for... More

Thank you for your review. You are right, during the fall hunting seasons we kind of become hunter headquarters. We are glad you enjoyed the pancakes. If we used Vermont maple syrup we would have to charge much more for it. We hope you come again. More

This place has a monopoly on the area so stay if you have to. The walls in the main motel are thin and I mean thin. The beds are fair, the towels worn...but it's clean and works. No coffeemaker in room and they charge full price in the little store for guests, which I thought was a rip off. It... More

Stayed here during a wonderful visit to the Grand Canyon. It was very enjoyable but expensive I thought it was over rated for what it was. The rooms had no tea and coffee facilities and the wi fi was bad. That being said it is the only place to stay in the area. The staff were friendly and the meals... More

Thank you for your review. Our prices are higher than those of a national chain, but very reasonable considering the cost of doing business in a very remote location. If you check the prices of nearby businesses you will find ours are better than most. We are sorry we cannot provide better wifi, this is due again to our location.... More
