This is a lovely B&B that is up on a hill overlooking the town and highway. Inside the courtyard you are in another world that is green and peaceful. I'll admit we wish we had less time with our hostess she was kind and offered us wine but we wanted a bit more "alone time" after being on the road... More

We stayed here for a night after visiting the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert nearby. The lady who owns the house is a charming Texan who has her own restaurant also and makes Texas style breakfasts. She's also very funny. The house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

We come to Holbrook every year for a family reunion and we always stay at the Heward House. It's easily the best place in town! It's so relaxing and there is plenty of room for the entire extended family. I love to sit out in the courtyard with the fountain running, a glass of wine and a good book. Linda... More

As soon as we stepped into Linda and Randy's living room, I fell in love with this cosy and quirky B&B. Upon arriving, they gave us the warmest welcome, complete with beer, sangria and homemade cookies and gave us great recommendations on where to eat and directions to the forest etc. Thankfully they also directed us to downtown Holbrook, a... We stayed here because it is one of the closest B&Bs to the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Linda and Randy are so much fun, and really took care of us -- wine in the evening, great and varied breakfasts in the morning. The room was comfortable, and the B&B good value. We hope we will... This grounds of this place were just breathtaking and the accommodations very comfy. The hostess served wine in the evening and a tasty breakfast in the morning as well as providing a snack for us as we headed out to explore each day. Our plan was to visit the Petrified Forest & Painted Desert, but we had the misfortune to... More

We enjoyed our stay in September, especially getting to know Linda and Randy who are great hosts. I add this sentence to comply with Trip Advisor's inexplicable requirement that reviews have a minimum of 200 characters. Perhaps they should consider that less is more.

Read the other reviews. They all say what I was going to say. Linda and Randy take time to sit and have a drink with you in the garden and before long, an hour or more has gone by. Great house, great people, great location. Strongly recommended.

My husband and I were driving from Santa Fe, NM to Sedona, AZ and wanted to spend time in the Painted Desert & Petrified Forest NP on our way. The Heward House B&B in Holbrook, AZ was the perfect place to spend the night as we explored the region. The house itself is strikingly different from every other building in... More

Linda and Randy were warm hosts. The room was comfortable and hearty american style breakfast was made to order by Randy. Linda shared her collection of indian artwork and both Linda and Randy talked about their lives as natives of the area. As a place to stay in Holbrook (your other choices are chain motel/hotels) I would highly recommend this... More
