We've always had fun at the Gadsden Hotel in Douglas, but this trip was the best ever. Staying at the Gadsden makes you feel like you're back in time, except with all the amenities. The Cowboy Suite with the jacuzzi tub was awesome. Plenty of hot water--which I really appreciate! The food is always good, but we had some particularly... More

We were there when they were having two high school reunions. We were on the 2nd floor that opened onto foyer. We did not sleep that night because there were loud people all night long. The bathroom was in horrible condition. The foyer was very beautiful.

This is our second time and last time to stay at this hotel. Historic does not mean shabby, run down and dirty. Which is what are King Suite was. The sheets were torn, the blanket worn thin and the bedspread very worn. The capet was rippled and dirty and the drapes were torn and hanging from the rods. Seriously, the... More

we stayed at the gadsen on sept 18th,2010, we chose it over the copper queen based upon the lobby, the lobby is beautiful, so ornate, so unique, we had a couple drinks in the historic saddle and spur, way cool, we had dinner in the conquistador room, beautiful, service was excellent, and breakfast in the coffe shop, a kick, blast... The Gadsden is breathtaking. It has the character and history lacking in the cookie cutter hotels the a lot of people prefer for some reason. Robin (the owner/manager) is great; friendly, accomodating and proud of the hotel and its history. I have visited this area alone 3 times over the past year and did not have the nerve to step... After reading some of the other reviews I was a bit skeptical and wasn't sure if i wanted to stay at the Gadsden but after I couldn't find any other hotel that had vacancy's I decided to give it a shot. My stay at the hotel was magnificent! As soon as I stepped into the lobby I fell in love... More

There were six of senior adults that stayed in the hotel - the heat was not working so was a little chilly but were given extra blankets. The staff was most helpful and pleasant. The food in the dining room was excellent. This was a wonderful experience back in history of Arizona. Please don't expect Holiday Inn accomadations - but... More

The Gadsden is truly a piece of the history of the old southwest -- built just after 1900. The lobby is gorgeous and impressive with huge pillars, a curving marble staircase and magnificent Tiffany stained glass ceiling and mural. It has an ancient working elevator (with an operator) to take you upstairs and down and really cool plaster drinking fountain(... More

The lobby … amazing ! The room, bed, and bathroom were so disgusting that we slept in our clothes and shoes. We were scheduled to stay there for two nights; we stayed the first night and left the next morning without showering because we were afraid of the shower. They have bullet holes in the building. There is a nightclub... More

The hotel lobby is spectacular! t is everything the other reviewers said, and more. The rooms, however, were VERY cold for our visit in late February. Heating is by (one) radiator, in our double sized room. The windows are probably original, letting in drafts and street noise. The bathroom was tiny. Bed was comfortable enough, except the mattress rocked every... More
